I understand that this method is condemned on moral grounds and because it causes harm to others. But I'd like to ask: from an effectiveness standpoint, if you were to stand somewhere at night just around a bend in the tracks—where the driver couldn't see you and there were no passengers on board, since it's a freight train and it would hit you at full speed—how reliable is this method?

Can you get sucked into the train using this method? I mean, if you rest your head on the tracks.

As long as your head is positioned on the tracks it would probably work pretty much instantly. There has been cases where it would only amputate a chunk of your body rather than killing you instantly. That said, a train has several cars so either way you would die anyways. It's a pretty effective method imo (10-30% survive).

in my honest opinion, it's not a method, since your SI can kick at any moment

Actually, no. I didn't want to put my head on the tracks; I just thought I'd stand with my back to the train and die from the impact. The speed there is about 90 km/h. I think that's enough to die from the force of the impact—internal organ rupture and so on.

I often read about people wanting to jump in front of passenger trains at stations, but I was thinking of actually standing with my back to a train traveling at full speed.

well on lastallhope it does say it takes like more than 17 minutes to die so idk if i like that tho on the agony scale it isnt rated as high i thought it would be so thats that too
but train really isnt a reliable way to go out even if you ignore the moral aspect SI is a real thing when you hear the sounds of train coming at you at high speed you might just instinctively try to step aside which can lead to one getting disabled for life which will make someones life significantly worse

There's videos online of cattle and other animals being struck at full speed by freight trains in India and places like that. They pretty much explode on impact, body parts being flung all over the place.

FYI trains are not always at "full speed" on the tracks. They have speed zones just like cars on a road. They can go as slow as 20mph/32kph and will generally slow down while going around corners. I would suggest you scout the place you are planning to get hit and asses how fast trains typically go there.
