What is the required Nitrogen purity for CTB using either SCUBA or SCBA? I have food grade Nitrogen which I believe is typically between 99.0% and 99.5% purity with oxygen concentration less than 1% and carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide concentrations under 10ppm and 300ppm respectively. Is this sufficient? If not, there are numerous grades of "high purity" Nitrogen, so I am a bit confused as to what specific grade of Nitrogen I would ask for when I go to buy it.

At least 2.8 = 99,8 % purity or higher.

Yes, that's good enough. Atmospheric O2 concentration of <6% is fatal but the higher the purity, the faster you lose consciousness & die

Hello everyone, question for the nitrogen / N2 purity. I came across an industrial tank, when ask about the purity the supplier provide the following details

Gas: Compressed Nitrogen (GN₂)
Purity: ≥99.995%
Impurities (O2): ≤ 50.00ppm
Moisture (DEW POINT): ≤ 20.53ppm (≤ -55°C)

Gas: Oxygen Free Nitrogen (OFN)
Purity: ≥99.998%
Impurities (O2): ≤ 10.00ppm
Moisture (DEW POINT): ≤ 5.30ppm (≤ -65°C)

Gas: Purified Nitrogen (PN2)
Purity: ≥99.998%
Impurities (O2): ≤ 3.00ppm
Moisture (DEW POINT): ≤ 2.58ppm (≤ -70°C)

Gas: High Purity Compressed Nitrogen (HPN₂)
Purity: ≥99.999%
Impurities (O2): ≤ 1.00ppm
Impurities (CO): ≤ 1.00ppm
Impurities (CO2): ≤ 1.00ppm
Impurities (H2): ≤ 1.00ppm
Moisture (DEW POINT): ≤ 2.58ppm (≤ -70°C)

The supplier mentioned their tank as the PN2. Does this work for the exitbag method? Thank you in advance.

Not pro but 99.99 is all options. Should be ok for purity. You need regulator info for tank (usually country say typr).

It's unhelpful to post incorrect information.
Use google and you will find out that 2.8 = 99,8 % is. And this is the required minimum purity.

Any environment with less than 10% oxygen will result in death.

I don't need to use google. I know my science.

Please qualify your answers.

Read more about the method and you will understand why a minimum purity of 99.8% is necessary for a peaceful death. I know my profession.
