• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

    👉 View the ledger here

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

i feel like this site is doing pretty well for venting and ctb methods but kinda lack in recovery. there arent any places where you can get recovery in this kinda of worldview and mentality. feels like anyplaces that are recovering from suicidal ideation are only in a direction of not dying instead of looking inward and let it guilds us.

i would really like any kind of volunteers that help people to recover and get better, get the resources they need and so on.
probably limit them so specific thread like recovery or have only one specific that you can get this help. i guess if they are in recovery you have the option to block them if you want.

what your opinion?

It seems a bit unrealistic to me that a mental health professional would validate a site such as SaSu, ngl

I mean we got a good handful of threads going in Recovery for those interested...

I think a mental health professional would compromise the community. Support/encouragement to pursue help is within the scope of the site but not like mental health professionals practicing among us.
I come here to engage with a group of people who understand how it feels to live under the conditions that we live with.
The venting, the CTB conversations, resources, recovery, etc are done without judgement. There's no agenda to keep people alive, just to listen/lurk/engage/respect everyone's right to make their own decisions about their lives.
Even just talking about whatever but it's with a common experience or sentiment of living with that desire to CTB at some point.

I tend to think people who come to the site are likely suffering themselves too. There have been one or two members mention they are either training or working in psychology. So, it's not impossible there will be professionals here.

I'm not sure whether you are requesting general recovery help or more of a professional buddy to help you personally. (Effectively- free therapy.) Again- not impossible. Some people are extremely altruistic but truthfully- I think it's quite a big ask of someone.

Especially seeing as- they are likely suffering personally- to have looked for the site themselves. Plus, they may be helping others in their job. To then be relied upon to do that in their time off may be too much for them. They may come here to try to get support from others. Not vice versa as much. 'Who guards the guards?' type of thing.

Truthfully- even as a non professional, I've gotten to a stage personally where I don't have the strength to support others now. Perhaps they are better trained at separating themselves from other people's problems but- it requires a lot from someone to help another person through, I feel. In a way, a professional may be best placed to do that but, perhaps not if they have found their way here. That suggests to me they are already emotionally weakened/ struggling themselves.

That's exactly what all those places like Ofcom could have tried to implement/approach (this site) lol. That would have been a step into actually solving the problem

have you checked out the recovery forums? i guess it's less active than other parts of this website. Low key the blind leading the blind. Even for those working in healthcare, this site is murky waters. Maybe it's worth having a little read and keen on hearing your thoughts.
