Procedure to assisted suicide for foreigners in Dignitas.

Hi, first of all, English is not my first language, so maybe there are some details that I can't describe as well as I'd like.

I have the intention of applying to the procedure of assisted suicide offered by Dignitas, which includes people with not terminal conditions, and also includes foreign people. I know about the high cost of this for foreigners, but that's not the issue now.

My issue is that having the possibility of making the procedure, I need validation from a psychiatrist that could give a psychiatric appraisal justifying my desire to apply to assisted suicide.

I think that in my country is impossible to find a psychiatrist able to make me that favor, so my question is if possible to contact online a psychiatrist that could be open to the idea of helping me to complete this process.

I know that have been people in situations similar to mine that have completed the procedure of assisted suicide, so it's a fact that in some countries exist psychiatrists open-minded enough to help people in my situation, but I don't know who they are, and if it's possible to contact them online.

So, if you know anything about it. I'd appreciate your help.

I once was interested in that too. I think I read that there is a list of psychiatrist who do that. It is a long time ago. Maybe you have to ask Dignitas about them. They might have the list. But I am really not sure. Don't have enough money for this method anyway :(

I doubt you'd get accepted when having a mental illness. In any case, you'd need very strong psychiatric reports, which you don't seem to have.

I'm sorry, but getting accepted for euthanasia in case of mental illnesses is very, very tough, even if you're a resident of a country where this is possible.

I was thinking about partial hanging but it's so f*cking difficult and stressful, so I will give a try to this other option.

It's not "difficult", it's "nearly impossible". I know this is probably not what you want to hear, but it's the (sad) reality.

One guy wrote me he got accepted despite the fact he only had a mental illness (Switzerland)

I think you have to have years of background trying many medications and saying they didn't work. I don't think they will value a one time appointment with an online psychiatrist. One needs a shit ton of evidence that your condition is hopeless.

That's bullshit. Medications can't fix an unhappy life. Even if it is only caused by brain chemistry being off, medication may not fix it at all; certainly not alone.

I hear what you are saying and totally agree. Sadly people think meds and therapy will help people unhappy....and that's not always the case.

I'm just saying what I read. Lots of documentation of working with the system.
