i can feel where my pulse is on both sides of my neck, but no matter where i press it i dont feel any effects whatsoever. Sometimes i get the classic "pressure buildup" in your head but i think thats something entirely different than compressing your carotids. What could i be doing wrong? not enough pressure? The place i feel the pulse strongest is above the adams apple, where in diagrams the artery is shown splitting into the interior and exterior carotid arteries, but i have heard its harder to get it to work on the interior artery so maybe that spot isnt good? im not sure whats going on and i really need this method to work

They call it the 'carotid lottery' for a reason. It isn't easy to do and varies from person to person. I'm planning full suspension and I really hope I compress them very well.

I was planning on partial hanging from my radiator but when i tested it last night i just kept getting the pressure buildup and not blacking out, is that method completely just useless if i cant compress my carotids on demand or is it worth trying it anyways? I just dont want to end up a vegetable

I can't make that decision for you, its yours to make. I wouldn't choose partial because it seems unreliable to me.

How are you going to use the corotid method, with a tourniquet ? Only with your fingers it will not work.

i was going to go with partial hanging and was just using my fingers to find the "sweet spot". It feels almost like rather than my carotid actually getting compressed, as i push onto it it kind of just sinks deeper into my neck. and i dont feel dizzy at all.I dont have a particularly fat neck btw, im about average weight.

It´s difficult to explain in the forum how to find the right points. Search google for anatomical photos.
