Just say you going to make DIY sausages or other meat at home. I would say buy enough so you can test some of it as you don't know the actual purity of it and then the rest for the actual suicide attempt.

One of its uses that is not curing and preserving meat (where lower purity, food grade SN will suffice) is metal treatment. Some blacksmiths and jewelers use it mixed with other salts in a hot bath to finish pieces with a nice shiny black coat of oxide.
