Sodium nitrite converts into nitric oxide which acts as a neuroprotectant. I guess if you are found after these properties wear off sure you can can brain damage. There have yet to be any medical articles released yet so I'm not following any of this hype. I will mention that I did see a post on Facebook from the mother of a daughter who ingested Sodium Nitrite and apparently she was brain dead. At least that's what I'm assuming. I'm not sure if they found her after her heart stopped beating and they were able to revive her or what. I do know that they were able to keep her alive for an extra day or two with tubes down her throat in the hospital until her organs were donated.
You think free life exit would be spending his time "informing" people about the dangers of hanging since it can be extremely painful and has led to tons of people being brain dead and paralyzed. He doesn't do that though. He focuses on the one method that's fairly accessible to all of us and has been rated a 7 out of 10 in terms of peacefulness from exit international. Sure there are going to be people who have a bad experience and not out of 10 times those are the people that didn't follow the guide properly and try to do things their own way. Someone was sharing the success and failures thread yesterday and said look if you go to the fourth person down they failed from vomiting. So I found that user and I went to their thread and read into it and come to find out they drink sodium nitrate not Nitrite and they drank 1.5l of water with it. I'm sure there are risk with any method but when it comes to sodium nitrite and people who have failed they seem to always recover. Even the people that come on here claiming that they're having problems after a failure they come for a couple of days afterwards mention the problems that they're going through and then that's it after a while you don't hear them mentioning it anymore. Also I could be wrong and I probably am but I'm pretty sure paralysis has to do with spinal cord injury doesn't it? So I'm not sure how sodium nitrite can paralyze you. Again.. I could be wrong I'm not a doctor and I'm no expert.
Thank you.
And thank you for helping me see that his emotions might play a bigger role in his behavior than I thought.
It is possible that SN is a more peaceful method but he's emotionally buaised towards the rope to follow in the footsteps of his idol Robin Williams. He hanged himself.
I am also biaised to hang like he did... And also... Out of guilt. Many years ago I had rats in my walls. Rat trapped failed. I had to finish them off strangling them with a rope. I think I deserve to die the same way to atone.
I had drug problems. I swore that I would never touch it again. Medicine always make me sick with side effects & no benefits, I loathe drugs. They are at the bottom of the list of successful suicide...
So I am emotionally biaised against SN and for the rope.
Also, I prefer to be strangled than puke... It's sexier...
So maybe he has strong feelings against SN for some reason. But not suicide in general.
And to be honest he seemed to me like the most rational, calm, and thoughtful person. So when he warned us... I instinctively took him seriously.
Maybe he knows someone who regrets SN? Maybe he knows something we don't.
Maybe he's just fed up with people ONLY talking about SN and not his favorite method. No one spoke about oartial hanging, it drew me freaking nuts. I was so happy to meet him.
Honestly I don't think he's the type to let emotions cloud his judgement, but I probably am. So I find him reliable. It's so very hard to discuss worst case scenarios in a toxic positive society...
One advantage about partial hanging is that we can try right away with things around the home. No need for complex recipes... And ee die faster instead to be saved 8h later. Easier for people living with their parents.
We almost never discuss any other methods that has advantages over SN... And we rarely discuss SN side effects... His comments are refreshing to me.
It's not to be pro life invaders to want to share our different ways to ctb. I have never seen him in a goodbye post discouraging people to do it. I saw people telling them not to be ashamed if they change their minds & come back... Not as pro life comments... But someone recently did and she was devastated to have aborted the bus...
So a lot of comments can seem pro life. Some people here are just not ready... And it's ok to encourage them to wait and try at life a bit more.
I'm super conflicted myself... I wish I could enjoy life, but I can't due to physical pain and severe psychological traumas.
If I see someone who can still heal, I feel like it'd be mean not to show them possibilities...
What did the other guy do?
Well, the existence of pro-lifers within this community is both positive and negative. It's positive as far as understanding goes, since people here sometimes complain that no one understands our burdens - and it's negative in the sense that some journalists may use word scrapers to find out the most-used words in order to build some kind of word map, which could illustrate our mental state - which is a ridiculous idea, but what should one expect from them after choosing that kind of career..?

- and another negative is that their only purpose for being here could be to try to shut the community down.
Scary. I think those vultures wanting to crush us don't post. They just search for criminal "proof".
