There's a lot of hate towards cutting as a method because it is unlikely to work and is painful. Nevertheless, I want to evaluate all possible options so I can make the best decision. Cutting would be the easiest method for me: I don't have the equipment for hanging, I would have to buy poisons, drug overdose is possibly the worst choice due to pain and low success rates, and there are no train tracks close to my house; the best method right now seems to be NN, but I'm having a lot of trouble getting it right.
So, cutting. There are different places one could cut, but obviously you want to hit an artery by going deep and in the right spot. To my uninformed self the best choice seems to be the carotid arteries in the neck. The main problem is making sure that enough blood comes out in enough time to ensure success. It's possible that enough of the tissue will heal too quickly, possibly after you've passed out but before you die.
Other considerations are the amount of mess, pain, and time required. Some people say that cutting an artery makes you pass out before you feel too much pain; others say that it's one of the most painful ways to go. Obviously, hours of time until death won't work for someone who lives with others or has strong SI.
I've heard that some people cut tissue that is submerged in water, reducing mess. Does this also lower chances of healing? Maybe it decreases the rate at which blood escapes, making things worse?
Other questions: exactly how much pain does this involve, and what factors does it depend on? What are the best places to cut? There seems to be a lot of disagreement over this.
