There would be way too many nuances necessary. This poll is pretty simplified. I am interested in the numbers but I would be even more curious whether there are differences on the region where you come from and how big the difference is.

My personal statement. I condemn the terrorist attacks against Israeli civilians without any doubt. There is no valid excuse for the attacks. The Hamas leader is a disgusting asshole he is safe in Qatar and says he is proud to sacrifice the Palestinian people for the sake of eradicating Israel. The Arabian government also only does virtue signaling they use Palestine for strategical purposes. The people in those countries care in contrast to their leaders you can see that with the protests.

In the Ukraine conflict I am 100% with Ukraine. Though I see some actions of Israel critical. The death toll of civilan is insane. 50% of the population are children you have to imagine that. There are speculations Israel is purposely targeting journalists I would not rule that out. There were some reports that they do that. The human right organizations make a pretty good case.

I will do more research for now I am undecided. I go with pretty balanced. Compassion and criticism for both sides. (but not for terrorist and or extremists in the Israeli government)

I'm leaning towards supporting Palestine more than Israel. A fight shouldn't have happened anyways, it would be much more beneficial for everyone to just accept that it's Palestine's land and both sides are in the wrong for their own reasons but in my opinion, Palestine is more rational than Israel, concerning this topic.

Firstly, Israel already has so much support from the rest of the world while Palestine doesn't because they're a muslim country.. Muslims get looked down on quite often in this world which immediately means everyone comes to Israel's support..

Secondly, it is Palestine's land being fought over. Israel has no right to have that land and if it is such a big deal why don't the Native Americans have ownership over the land that was stolen from them in North America? It all makes no sense, there is no real reasoning why people support each other.Everything is influenced from biases which makes a lot of these matters very unfair for certain groups of people.

I don't think Palestinians should be killing people and taking people hostage but I guess that's what happens when you are at risk of losing your land, and it's human to do such things. I do feel bad for Israelis but it doesn't change how I feel about this war.

These conversations are 100% pointless. We can blab about it all day long and it won't change anything. We have no power to influence this conflict in any way at all. It's not our problem and it's not our business. Just shut up and go back to focusing on your own life.

I think people are welcome to study the history of the area and come to their own conclusions.

I think Israel's response was predictable, albeit maybe not the extent of that response.

What is concerning to me is how the debate has, at times, appeared to be stifled from some quarters. Criticism of the Israeli state does not necessarily make someone anti-Semitic.

Mostly Israel.

Unfortunately, as you say, this isn't as simple as Ukraine. At first, I was very confused about it, and I even had a lengthy conversation with ChatGPT to find any grounds for even establishing Israel as a country. The arguments it provided were generally sh** in my opinion, like "the land was mostly Jewish thousands of years ago" (so what?) or "Jews were not safe elsewhere and needed their own state" (so what, can you just take someone else's land?)...

But if I ignore all the noise, there really is one real argument for me:
  1. Palestine wasn't a country, it was part of the Ottoman Empire.
  2. The Ottoman Empire lost WW1, effectively ceding Palestine to Britain.
  3. Britain eventually had enough and decided to let the UN decide what to do with Palestine.
  4. The UN proposed (UNGA 181) two awkward states + Jerusalem.
  5. Jewish awkward state was established, Arab awkward state was not.
  6. Israel was attacked, won the war, ended up with more land.
That being said...
  • I think the Israeli settlements in West Bank are illegal.
  • Accusing Hamas of using barbarian methods if you then see videos of Israelis kicking corpses of Palestinians, pissing on them, loading them on bulldozers... is just hypocritical.
  • Accusing Palestinians of not wanting to solve the problem, when Israelis assassinate their own PM for trying to solve the problem (i.e. signing the Oslo Records)... is also hypocritical.
IMO if Israel wants the world to have any sympathy, it really needs to get rid of their own far-right ASAP. And same applies for Palestinians.

I do not support any war. Palestine-Israel War is not a Marvel movie, there are no heroes and villains, only authoritarian governments that are willing to sacrifice 50% of their population in exchange of desert land. All this while both leaders enjoy their vacations in Dubai. People who support Palestine have no idea of the extremist ideologies of the country and the historical context that surrounds it.

That's right, it isn't like a marvel movie and being centrist and saying they're both in the wrong won't do anything. Of course it's horrible that both sides did warcrimes, barely anybody would deny that (I hope). I think you don't realize how much research people do when choosing to side with Palestine. To me it is obvious they have been severely mistreated and that at a certain point you surpass peaceful negotiation attempts and resort to more radical violence. It ultimately is self-defense, it is finally being fed up enough. Is it cool and alright? No, of course not. Was it inevitable? Absolutely.

Israel is committing religious genocide and has been for many many years and decades.

I'm probably extremely biased because I live in Israel, but I agree with you. I'm also against the conservative government of Netanyahu and the settlements in the West Bank.

I am not being dishonest. You can throw statistics at me but they are targeting a specific group of people with a specific religious background in a specific place with religious underlying reasons.
"Article II In the present Convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such: (a) Killing members of the group; (b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; (c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; (d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; (e) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group."

According to the UN website.

Also where are your statistics from?

The Israeli intent is to completely destroy Hamas, which is not a racial or ethnic group, but a terrorist organization. So it's not a genocide. Israel wants to destroy Hamas because of October 7 Hamas attack.

Wikipedia: Gaza has an annual population growth rate of 1.99% (2023 est.), the 39th-highest in the world.
PRB: The population growth rate is among the highest in the world: 3.4 percent in the West Bank and 4.0 percent in Gaza, according to U.S. Census Bureau estimates.

Until the IDF shoots and kidnaps all the unarmed civilians they see in Gaza, and declares that Jews will kill all Muslims until the Muslims hide behind stones and trees, it is impossible to compare them.

How does it look when it's the other way around? Probably not great. But when Hamas and the Palestinian authority say it, it's suddenly "context-dependent".

Unfortunately, many people are incredibly ignorant of history & easily swayed by propaganda.
I'm an American Zionist and I unapologetically stand with Israel.

They don't understand that the Jewish people are indigenous to Eretz Yisrael.
They don't understand that every war fought by Israel has been entirely defensive against its aggressing Arab neighbors.
They don't understand that Israel had made numerous good-faith efforts towards establishing a two state solution, only to be repeatedly rejected by Palestine.
