I have no experience in handling firearms so I'm sure I would screw it up somehow like maybe the recoil causes my hand to change its aim last minute and shoot a non fatal area that leaves me as a vegetable so I think it's unlikely I'd go for it.

If you put the gun in your mouth and aim for the brainstem, with proper ammunition, you shouldn't screw up lol, even with no experience in handling firearms whatsoever.

As for the main question, I voted unsure because for the moment, I'm torn between trying rTMS/ECT and committing suicide as soon as I receive my SN. I would like to try everything I can and use CTBing as a last resort solution to my pain. Because all in all, I wanna live. Just not like this.
But there are many uncertainties. Will I be accepted in a clinic which offers rTMS/ECT? When? It's pretty urgent. And I need a paper from my GP as I don't wanna see yet another psychiatrist who's gonna deny me access to rTMS/ECT and try the same shitty ISRS/antipsychotics/mood stabilizers which DON'T WORK ON ME. IT'S BEEN SEVEN YEARS, DUDE, GET OVER IT. But my GP doesn't have any appointments available for the moment, she's quite overbooked. Will I make it through if the appointment is in July? I need a solution right now, the pain is unbearable.
So yeah, I'm unsure I would make it. But as the days go by, I'll definitely lean more and more towards likely/certain.

I don't have a good knowledge base about gun suicide. I've never touched a gun in my life, so I don't know the first thing about how to use one. Contrary to popular belief not all Americans have or even approve of guns. But I would keep it and spend time doing research. I would learn to shoot it. Then when the time was right, yes I would use it.

I'm at almost 7 years of severe suicidal idealation too
I'm American and have never Shot a gun in my life and to scared of ending up as that 1-5 percent that end up a vegetable from it. I had a stroke in my medulla so I think I'd be to scared to shoot myself there

Probably not, I'm not American so I wasn't born with a gun in my hand and taught to love, stroke , honour and obey it

Based on my current level of suicidal ideation, if the death is guaranteed and instant, I'd do it, almost certainly.

Survival instinct might push me back, but the first thought that would pass through my head would be to blow my brains with it, surely.

I'm actually terrified of guns, I don't know why, I've never held one, they're not commonplace in the U.K. I would absolutely fuck up shooting my self, if I managed to combat SI enough to pull the trigger.

We had an incident years back where there was a terrorist attack on an airport. All airports went into high alert and there were a bunch of armed guards posted patrolling each airport (police here don't even generally carry guns, I think they actually got people from the armed forces). I was picking up a friend from the airport and ended up having a massive panic attack just at the sight of all these armed staff

Made little sense but yeah, I think I have gunphobia (Google tells me it's called hoplophobia).

Too risky. Awkward to aim, especially with my short arms. I'd rather have a 357 with a hollowpoint.

I'd use it for sure, but not right away. I'd have to do some preparations first. (Write a note, go somewhere where family won't find my body, get my things in order, eat my last meal, etc.)

I'm sure I'd still find a way. I'm great at screwing up mechanically simple tasks since I have horrible luck and my dexterity is rather poor.

Probably not, certainly not instantly, as I'm not quite ready to go. Additionally, it's not my method. I have a shotgun, and if it came down to it, possibly because I was unable to utilize another method, and I needed to take myself out quickly for whatever reason, I believe I would do it then. But, as a first choice, no, even if utilizing a shotgun (firearm) is the most reliable method to CTB, which it is.
