If they are at similar technological level as we are, or they are less advanced, there is basically no chance for a contact. However if their civilisation is far ahead of ours, then I suppose, even though they are aware of us being there, they won't bother to do anything. Would you try contacting a bacteria ? Does it matter? They are millions of light years away, so it's almost like they don't exist.

Yep plus interstellar travel based on the technology we have would take 165,000 years just, JUST, to the nearest star. The only way out is probably some while in the fabric of spacetime but even at that is all fantasy until proven. Also why would aliens come here? What makes us humans feel so fucking special that aliens would spend their time on a rock full of germs? Maybe they got intelligent enough to realize that existence is pointless and decided to Jim Jones their way out of this shit. So many possibilities and not one involves anything that doesn't sound unsettling to some degree.

I dont see how more people arent seeing these things, they hang on ubove the earth looking exactly like stars, lay on your back away from the city lights you will notice a star start to move that was previously standing still, now take a flashlight and try to get its attention, have a large magnet with you (one out of a large stereo speaker) they are attracted by magnetism. They will come really low a few hundred feet off the ground and spotlight you with there light, sometimes they just appear as a long flash of light, it can get really rediculous and you may have dozens appear, some of them do not look like ships they look like gigantic neon orange and green butterflys complete with flapping wings, some of them may well be some kind of space animal.

Yes, but I think the amount of energy/effort it would take for even a short interstellar hop is prohibitive. Any society clever enough to overcome those issues would be likely to wipe itself out long before it could achieve interstellar travel. So I expect there are countless forms of life all over the universe, all evolving to a certain level then wiping out.

Life evolved here, so why wouldn't it evolve on other planets? My gut feeling though is that intelligent life like us is rare...that's my guess for why the Fermi paradox is a thing.

That and huge distances...as far as we know traveling faster-than-light is not possible...my hope is our science is wrong (I'm a big science fiction fan and that involves a lot of FTL travel, lol), but yeah. So, rare intelligent life plus incredible distances between stars might mean that civilizations meeting each other is an incredibly uncommon event.
