• Hey Guest,

An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.

Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.

I used to think I was agnostic till I read the definition:

'A person who believes that nothing is known or can be known of the existence or nature of God.' (Quick Google search.)

That doesn't really cover it for me though. If Jesus suddenly made an appearance and started performing miracles, I'd certainly reconsider my belief/ non belief. How do I know if science can eventually discover proof of God and/ or, if God themselves will decide to make us aware of them? Either seem possible.

It frustrates me that there isn't an adequate term for people who just aren't sure. It seems like agnostic means we don't know and we are incapable of ever knowing. In a way- it's too closely tied to religion ironically. The whole idea that maybe God won't ever provide concrete proof they exist because- it nulifies the value of faith I suppose.

They really ought to though- I think. Imagine how many wars they could have prevented if only they'd made it clear which God they actually are!

The truth for me is, I simply don't know. I have plentiful doubts about orthodox religions certainly. But then, there is also so much mystery to this world. Perhaps it does have non theological causes but, nothing seems certain for me. I'd actually prefer to be an atheist though. I've liked a lot of the atheists I've met. But, if there is a God, I can't see them as being good. So, I'd actually prefer it if they didn't exist. I don't like the idea of being under the control of a narcissistic psychopath (I'd argue God exhibits both traits strongly.)
Yeah I don't think that Google search is accurate. My thinking on the subject is pretty much as you've described your own as and that's what I've always understood the term to mean. It's certainly the most reasonable belief imho. Atheism requires as much faith as any religion and they all seem to think they have all the answers

I believe there was probably something that caused the universe to begin, that's about it.

I was raised catholic. I enjoyed the rituals (mass, altar serving, choir, I even read at mass) but actually listening to what they were saying woke me up.
After I started disagreeing with many of the topics spoken of in mass for example, I stopped going.
I also went to a catholic school so having a more in depth grasp on what the religion is actually teaching helped in leaving it.
The hymns still hit though. I also spent a lot of time reading the bible, I'll probably reread it one day.
The religions I have been exposed to seem to be pro life and thus their believers are also pro life (for the most part). This makes being pro choice and talking to any religious person about my views a pain.

Me and catholocism have a complicated relationship.
On one hand I don't like it.
On the other hand, you show me an edit like this and I eat it up.

TLDR: Catholocism goes against a lot of what I believe now. I left.

I'm Christian but the lack of support for my sexuality has fueled my self-hatred and put a wedge between me and my family and I have lost friends because of it

I don't know I was raised as a Jehovah's witness going to the Kingdom Hall and the wine and crackers ya know eating Jesus at his memorials, sorry, anyway the conventions and circus assemblies, Im not currently following that religion as I don't believe in it per say though I can't be concrete and say I'm an atheist because well that wouldn't be true either, I don't know i suppose.

Christian, not practicing, but I believe in something. I also used to believe in the universe, karma, do-onto-others that kind of thing, but now I'm not so sure anymore.

im agnostic, but im leaning towards christianity but ive never read the bible. Spirituality is also very interesting for me. But i take truth in every religion or spiritual saying, maybe there are higher beings or they trick us into believing one thing.
