My natural tendency is towards liberal personality traits but I became much more conservative or right leaning once I understood what the government actually is, economics, human nature, differences between men and women. I became right leaning real quick when I realized that the left is the party of the people who support shit like equality of outcome vs equality of opportunity. The left wants everybody to be miserable, poor, socialism, fatherless children, abortion, gov indoctrination of kids to think left, theft through taxation, take away guns for self defense, it's because of the left that people have died by the millions in concentration camps. Government always grows and becomes oppressive, then it leads to impoverishment and murder of citizens.

Fair warning: This post is probably going to turn into a flame war in short order. Recently I asked people what their trusted news sources were, and in no time the thread had devolved into an absolutely nauseating shitshow of fringe-right conspiracy theory, proud Trump voters, and recommendations for "news" websites that were nothing more than undisguised outlets for supporting racism, misogyny, and xenophobia.

I was disturbed enough after looking at one of the recommendations for what at least one person considered a legitimate news source, that I asked a mod to take the entire thread down.

I'm socially very, very right and economically a borderline communist. I really hate it. I'm too left for most right wingers and too right wing for most left wingers. What complicates this even further is that I'm a monarchist and do support Austrofascism. I'm just a disgusting chimera of political believes.

Thank god, I'm not the only one. I feel surrounded by politically one-dimensional people that just dogmatically agree with everything one side says out of principal. It seems almost noone forms their own oppinions anymore.

well, it's easier to go with the flow than against it I suppose.
speaking of which, there will be parliamentary elections held today in Poland, and I'm wondering if there is a point in going and voting, one party is worse than the other and in the end noone will keep their promises anyway.

I don't bother voting anymore. We had an election in Austria last weekend and I didn't vote because everything is garbage. I've given up on democracy a long time ago.
