Having a child directly affects two people, suicide directly affects the individual. yet most people will criticize someone who dies by suicide, while almost nobody calls out people who bring kids into shitty situations.

And I'm so sick of hearing people complain about the birth rate. some of these natalists say if no one has kids, society collapses because kids grow up to pay taxes and buy stuff. That really makes me want to throw up, and it just makes my suicidal thoughts worse. They're treating children like tools to fix problems, not as actual beings who can feel pain. They never stop to ask why so many people don't want kids, they just pressure people for choosing to be child-free instead.

Kids don't get a say in being born. A lot of the reasons people have them are just selfish. Plenty of people never even think about whether they can actually give a child a stable and secure life, they just figure "as long as the kid doesn't starve, it's fine." Then those kids get stuck carrying all the pain that life dumps on them, pain they never asked for. And a lot of them aren't even allowed to leave if they want to. People just expect them to suck it up and "get through it."

When the world treats conscious beings like tools, what the hell is the point of dragging more of them into this world? Just so the suffering can keep going?

it's diabolical, isn't it? haha

to be brought into this crumbling world, to be a meaningless cog
not being allowed to reject the idea
it's deeply saddening knowing how little human lives and emotions matter

to ctb is to escape the wheel- they get upset when you refuse to be a slave for the rest of your life
not to mention the poor children who will have to learn to heal from wounds of not their fault
it becomes their responsibility to deal with it all- because of a society that has completely failed them
it's way easier to blame an individual than it is to blame a system

the way you worded everything is beautifully put ❤️

even if you can gurantee a happy life, they are still going to die though unfortunately.
Besides,happiness stems from deprivation.
(meaning if you do not desire you won't suffer(nonexistence==no suffering;no deprivation)
Also, everyone almost always dies in pain.
Also, experiencing happiness is also pointless since i will have no memories of this experience after my inevitable death

100% this. There isn't even one unselfish reason to bring children into this world. Every single one of them is driven by a selfish need. It's nothing short of cruel to give birth to an intrinsically unconsenting person and force them to suffer, while making CTB increasingly more difficult.

The way our socioeconomic system is structured is not fit for a dignified life. The majority of people are born and bred from birth to reproduce oppressive systems and become workers to slave under an upper class of owning class that control the economy through a byzantine financial system that ultimately sucks the surplus value of our work for their leisure and perpetual maintenance. Mass media and culture encourage an increased individualism and ever-shrinking social networks. Justice and accountability is separated from communities and placed in the hands of a legal system that considers all transgressions as against itself before any actual victims, rarely succeeds in executing proper punishment, and when it does, enforces lame punishment that promotes no accountability and restoration and simply releases dangerous people back onto the streets worse than they found them. Political 'alternatives' are offered to the masses which simply propose tormenting and torturing the most vulnerable in our society for a sense of collective release while still collectively making everyone's lives worse. Any meaningful opposition to this, any of this, is effectively guaranteed to put you in a jail cell for the rest of your natural life.

Is having children selfish? Yes, as are all things we do. But I blame the upper class a thousand times and a thousand times again before I'll point at the little guy for trying to build a half-normal life in this cold, desolate world, children and all.
