I would like to see who has managed to pass out with partial hanging, but then their automatic survival instinct made them stand back up.

I'm using the rope under the Adam's apple, tied to a tree, and leaning forward method.

I tried partial hanging when I was sectioned in hospital. At first it hurt a lot. But after adjusting I felt like I was doing it right. Managed to get very light headed, vision turning black etc. But a nurse walked in and found me.

I used a shoelace tied onto a plastic disc on the wall that definitely shouldn't have been there lol.

i tried partial hanging when i was 15. i got to the point where it felt like my eyes were going to pop out of my head, and that wasn't something i was able to handle at all. i barely remember that point in my life, but i vaguely remember having some gnarly burns around my neck from the rope. it was not a pleasant way to go and so it wasn't my way to go at all

What did happen after your failed attempt if I may ask? Did the prolonged your stay at the hospital?

I attempt via partial hanging fairly regularly. I've passed out at least five times and have saved myself each time obviously. One time in particular I feel like I was extremely close to expiring as my strength was waning and I became extremely desperate, but I still managed to save myself, if only just barely. That automatic SI is crazy. I can't speak for anyone else, but waking up after maybe half a minute or a minute later… I couldn't remember much. I couldn't/didn't think about what I was doing, why I was dying or really where I was. Everything was focused on trying to figure out ways to breathe normally again. It wasn't until after that I realized that I shot myself in the foot and would have to try again.

Yeah, I spent nearly 2 years there. Immediately after that attempt, I was put on 1:1 where a nurse watches you 24/7, not fun.

Thanks for sharing.

Can I ask what setup you are using and rope placement on nthe neck etc?

Are you committed to dying when you are doing it or are they just practices.

Sure, I was utilizing ratchet straps that were advertised to handle up to 300lbs right below the Adam's Apple. I would pad it with socks directly on the front of my neck to try and avoid discomfort/physical bruising in the event that I survived.

Commitment is difficult for me to measure because I feel like this is extremely compulsive. I have to do this, I have to keep trying until eventually I'm successful, and so I do it even when I don't want to. There have been times I didn't want to die, but I still had to go through that ritual, and then there are times where I did want to die, but I still just couldn't get past that SI. Some would claim that me not getting past it is proof I don't want to die and that makes sense, but I don't know why else I would feel like I have to keep doing this if I didn't want to die. It's not like I'm telling anyone that I'm doing this, I'm not getting attention, I'm not getting help, I just have to keep trying until eventually I slip up and I don't have the dexterity to unlock the mechanism when I wake up.

I wasn't able to pass out but I felt pressure building up at my eyes. I later saw that my eyes were bloodshot and I hate petechiae for a few days under my eyes. Likely didn't find the right spot but it was all on impulse so eh
