Might be a psychiatric hospital. A voluntary stay based on the finding of SN and its implications. IE suicidal ideation. Why would your parents take you to a hospital?
That would be an IN-voluntary stay, I believe.Might be a psychiatric hospital. A voluntary stay based on the finding of SN and its implications. IE suicidal ideation.
Depends on how you assume it played out. The way i assumed it to play out would have been voluntary technically. Like this - parents find SN - Parents make a big deal of it and say "we're taking you to psych hospital" - OP reluctantly agrees to go.That's about as rough as it gets. I hope you come out OK on the other end. I guess the only thing that can be gleaned from this is that this person's parents do love them. Nothing wrong with that. Many in this world don't have that. Maybe this person will come out on the other side and have a nice, happy life. That's what we all should hope for them, regardless of where we are in ours.

That's still involuntary to me. Agreeing to something because of a forced hand is not voluntary.Like this - parents find SN - Parents make a big deal of it and say "we're taking you to psych hospita" l - OP reluctantly agrees to go.
I think they mean in the eyes of the law and the hospital. I'd agree that it's not really a decision they're giving their consent to, but in the eyes of the law it may count as voluntaryThat's still involuntary to me. Agreeing to something because of a forced hand is not voluntary.
Honestly, I know nothing about what is involved in committing someone. To your point, I doubt there are proclamations to attest to by signature regarding whether one is freely entering the facility without duress and all that, like one would have to sign upon making a confession to a crime or pleading guilty in a court of law, but, again, I have no idea. I'm not sure a hospital would even care, as it's all $ to them, either way. I'm not even sure if the OP is a minor. That probably makes a difference if the parents are still legally responsible for their welfare.I think they mean in the eyes of the law and the hospital. If you commit yourself you can leave when you like. If you dont you're there for the duration. Therefore it's in the interest of someone visiting such a place to appear compliant. I had simply suggested they might be on their way to a voluntary stay. This was the important technicality I was eluding to. However it ultimately makes no difference to us so arguing semantics isn't really necessary.Honestly, I know nothing about what is involved in committing someone. More like.. another young person really struggling with life.Another underaged person and his/her immaturity and naïveté.
You don't have to be a minor to get admitted into the hospital by family membersHonestly, I know nothing about what is involved in committing someone. You a minor also?More like.. another young person really struggling with life.
No you cannot. Not if you admit yourself and tell then you are suicidal. If you commit yourself you can leave when you like. If you dont you're there for the duration. Think that depends on the country you're in. Somebody that had admitted themselves posted yesterday saying they were able to leave as they admitted themselves. No you cannot. Not if you admit yourself and tell then you are suicidal.
I don't think it usually works that way in the US. I don't really care though. I don't even know why I said anything. Sorry.Think that depends on the country you're in. Somebody that had admitted themselves posted yesterday saying they were able to leave as they admitted themselves.
No I am 27. But how does age make anyone's story any more or less relevant..You a minor also?
I'm definitely not okay but i met some like minded people in the hospital so they've lifted my spirits a little. I still intend to do my plan though.Welcome back, how is everything? are you okay?
