One of the most influential metal musicians of all time, and perhaps the most influential vocalist. Truly a legend.
Rest in power, prince of darkness, you'll never be forgotten. There's a big party in hell tonight

RIP Ozzy. Somewhere out there, a choir of demons just got a new frontman.

Thanks for teaching us that being a little unhinged was something to celebrate.
If afterlife exists, I hope it's stocked up on bats and whiskey.
Rest easy, legend.

I'm so fucking sad. This guy was literally just like my father. A stubborn rock n roller that just wanted to be accepted for who he was.

I honestly got fucked up when this song came out 5 years ago.

It made me realize that I'm a monster and need to end myself to keep others safe from my bs.

Thank you Ozzy for helping me see the light.

What was the song? It says unavailable.

I'm hearing rumours that he left on his own terms, possibly by aid of a doctor. It would make sense given his chronic health conditions and I remember an interview Sharon gave years ago in which she said they were both open to euthanasia if their health deteriorated. RIP Prince of Darkness

I was wondering the same thing. Didn't the UK recently legalize Death with Dignity or Medical Assistance In Suicide? I respect the family's privacy as they deal with this but I was just curious.

Mama he came home. he's now home...

The assisted euthanasia legislation in Britain isn't law yet.
It's difficult to imagine that he's been "helped on his way" as there would be serious legal questions to answer on that. But it's an unspoken fact that people are regularly euthanised with Morphine in the guise of pain relief in Britain.

man i've been thinking about this all fucking day, i'm not ok

i didn't know that just 17 days before he went, Tom Morello had organized this MASSIVE 11-hour benefit concert in Birmingham that had nearly every name in metal in attendance.
every group played some of their own songs, and some of Ozzy's / Sabbath.

the man himself closed out the night, rising from below the stage on a black throne - he finally lost the ability to walk or stand this year due to Parkinson's, which was diagnosed over 20 years ago - and played a set of his solo stuff with his band, then one with the original Sabbath to end it.
it was the first time all OG Sabbath members played live in twenty years.

he was so grateful. you could see and hear. mouth of a sailor, yet constantly thanking the audience, saying how much he loved them.
the audience videos are shit quality of course but it fucking cut me seeing it. so sad, so beautiful. i cried.

there will be a proper film version next year. and a memoir this fall, about the last few years of his life which sound so fucking hard.

gah. sad.

Why are people upset over his death? Shouldn't we be celebrating, because he doesn't have to suffer anymore?
