65 because my dad is 65.

Being terminated at 30 sounds like a privilege.

But I think 50yo would be the perfect age to die. If there are any antinatalists on this website, I suggest you review your philosophy and become an anti-agist instead if you want to solve overpopulation. For the sole reason that children are cuter and more useful than elderlies and their diapers.
Antinatalism isn't about overpopulation tho. Old people are harmless from the pov of antinatalism if they're old enough not to reproduce anymore.
Settle down, Thanos...
(blah blah blah, hoomans are EVIL, there's too many of us...and yet, the people saying that STILL haven't CBT'd yet...)
Where's the contradiction?

i did read about 20 years ago that it might be possible to have 100 billion people on this planet. part of the problem is not only the amount of population but also that wealthy societies are just living such a wasteful lifestyle.

the richest 1% for example produces 70 times more co2 than the poorest 50% (per capita).

and besides co2 i think this will be similar in other areas too.
the amount of waste wealthy societies produce is just ridiculous.

so in theory even when we remove the poorest 90% of the population the world still would get polluted more than it could handle.

and regarding age limit. sometimes i like to say that people should be "recycled" at 35 (i am 48). but i guess i just did watch too much scifi movies ^^

Why, thankyou. ❤❤
being an anti-aging makes more sense to me than being an antinatalist.

I don't get why people in the news get excited when they hear that humans might be able to reach 120yo.

there's a reason why villains in stories are the ones after immortality.

For example, millenials in China chose to not have children so that they can take care of their aging parents. Since they can't afford both, children and aging parents.

but boomers had no issues sacrificing younger generations.
longeivity is falling in western countries and that was before the pandemic factor is calculated. We shouldn't be surprised because humankind has made a stinking mess. 120 is just bizarre. The human genomics matrix would inevitably collapse by way of disease.

I think it's a mixture of many things that plaque our planet and will not stop until the climate heavily escalates and turning most regions into hostile environments in a few years.

1. overpopulation is a thing...In theory the planet could house a lot of people and even more than today's number - would that be enjoyable for each and everyone? Nope. Humans need space - everyone thinks of their dream life in a small secluded cottage somewhere far away and that wouldn't be possible if we keep producing humans! Why do we even need to be more?
Society would work just as well with only half the population and that's still a lot.

2. greed - even if we kill the 1% people who currently waste most of our resources, we could watch other people take their place in no time.

3. no togetherness/bonding over the simplest things - every nation only wants to secure their benefits and even worse most smaller businesses only see their current profits and never think further than a half a year in their plan.

4. age - we are too damn old, 50-60 should be the age for everyone to die. Thus retirement could start way earlier and school systems should be remodeled into teaching individualized/quicker lessons in things each person is truly interested in.

Sometimes I wish I could be a year 20,000 BC hunter gatherer wearing a fur tunic with a grug husband, and I just throw rocks at shit and believe in some pagan gods. No climate change or anything.

the earth can take far than just 8 billion people

it's not a question of how many humans are out there

we had WW1 when we were only around 1 Billion !

it's a question of wealth distribution

I don't believe overpopulation is the issue. It's our leadership and the selfishness of individuals that make our lives miserable.

I'm not alone because of perceived overpopulation. This is such an absurd connection to make. MY gfs don't break up with me because the planet is overpopulated.
