Oven pans of charcoal

Is it safe to put pans of charcoal on a glass and metal table? I just have about everything set up for my plan to ctb via burning charcoal and realized I don't know where to put the pans of charcoal since I don't have a portable BBQ or anything like that. I'll be using chimney starters and once it's white/ashy I'll be transferring the charcoal to my oven pans. Thanks.
