low point is turning out to be through the floorboards and it's tearing me apart. i can barely do anything but sleep. i can't just exist without being viciously attacked by my own mind. it's always something, and i'm so tired.

but now, a question. what more can i do? how do i see past it, if only just enough to function for a couple hours?

It can be difficult to break out of a narrowing focus. Things that are enjoyable such as video games, favorite books and movies can seem ineffective. Even things like exercise can fail to break through. There is an exercise that you might try that is a little unusual. If you sitt someplace crowded like a shopping mall, you might observe all kinds of people. You can pray for complete strangers that their lives would be happy, rewarding or successful. You don't have to believe in God, you can just pray to the universe or just a private well wishing.

This sort of exercise is not so much what your well wishing accomplishes for others, but how it can take you out of yourself and in doing so can break the grip a negative focus can impose on you.

I have a meditation megathread where there are links to resources. With meditation you can, for some examples; focus on relaxation in the body, music, or visual stimuli like mentioned above. You can also gradually become less and less bothered by mental and emotional activity by increasing "equanimity". You can also get better at focusing on whatever you need to do to "function".
