The rope I have looks similar to this. But I think I'm going to try something thicker and wider. I've read it's less painful. Like maybe a long scarf or something. I'm not sure. My rope is just really then and it digs into my skin.

I was wondering about a blood pressure cuff. Just wrap it around my neck and pump it up. Wonder if that would work.

that's what I heard! the rope has to be 14mm ideally, otherwise it is too thin and painful.

I don't think the blood pressure cuff would have enough strenght. would you mind sharing what you end up deciding on using? (:

I know there's been one account of someone saying the blood pressure cuff works on here. And honestly, I think it would. If the Velcro is strong enough, I think if you pumped it up enough, it would definitely inflate enough to cause obstruction of the main arteries in the neck. I'm just not sure if it would also make it hard to breathe, which we don't want. We just want the main arteries to get choked off and blood choke the brain.

pls do not use scarf it wont preassure carotid arteries enough to make you black out.

I've seen a lot of videos from India where they use their clothes, which are basically like long scarfs, and they bang themselves from their ceiling fans. It seems to work for them. Why do you think it won't work?

using a scarf, belt, or clothing is ineffective because the area that supposed to be pressuring your carotid arteries when hanging is too large, which could result in death from hypoxia, which means to struggle longer and more painful, or it even can lead to not dying at all

I know hypoxia is not what we want. We want to blood choke the brain. I've read that wide material is better than a thin rope.

so I assume you don't think the blood pressure cuff method is a good idea either? There was one post on here that explained why it works and there were a lot of people that agreed.

Have you heard about the "night night method"? It's also mentioned on here. I think it uses triangular wedges on both sides of the neck to stop blood flow.

yeah, ive heard abouth "night-night" method, and ive also seen the video where a guy was trying it, and oh my godness he struggled alot.. he was chocking like 5 mins before passing out, so i would never use something like that. i prefer squeezing carotids more, and thick and dense rope, like 12mm braided polypropylene/polyester rope
copes it completely

Oh, I didn't know there was a video. Could you possibly tell me how to find it? The method seemed sound. Just like getting out in a choke hold and being put to sleep. I've experienced that several times and you just pass out. I figure if someone just holds that for several minutes then that would be the end.

I watched the video. Maybe you're right. It doesn't look pleasant. I'm wondering if he just didn't do it properly. I thought he would've been unconscious in 10 seconds if done properly.

What is your preferred method?

in terms of effectiveness, is it better that the rope is 10mm or 12mm? I've heard the thinner the more painful but is there a better chance of blocking the carotids faster?
