This is the scenario: You want to shorten your life to get rid of pointless pain.
However, your family doesn´t want you to die.
Your relatives don´t want you to die.
Your neighbors don´t want you to die in your home.
None of your acquaintances want you to die.
It is taboo to talk about death.
People are afraid of death.
Most societies attach very high price tag to life and shun death.
The healthcare system doesn´t want you to die.
The police don´t want you to die.
Deadly medicines are hard to come by.
Suicide must be prevented.
People are expected to live no matter how life will be for them.
The civilization prefers human suffering instead of human death.
Switzerland´s suicide clinics don´t need you.
The suicide clinics have so many other patients to choose from.
Your worst enemy is the survival instinct - your body doesn´t want to die.
The fear of death keeps you alive against your will.
Nobody wants to take care of corpses in civilization - not even the coroner.
Only the hypothetical killer - that most people don´t have - wants you dead.
You have all circumstances against you.
It is no wonder that suicide is so difficult to perform.

If you want to shorten your life to avoid unnecessary suffering, why care what other people think? Perhaps caring too much what other people think is precisely why you suffer?

Others (and maybe even your own self) actively and persistently make it difficult to CTB regardless of whether you care or not.
I think that's the point the original post is trying to make?

Other people can't make it difficult to ctb if you don't involve them. It's not their decision in any case and they shouldn't influence it either way. Usually they drive you to it, not away from it. Is the point I'm trying to make.

It's so cruel and horrible how we are denied the option to just cease existing in peace, I hate how we are expected to suffer no matter what with no straightforward way to die. I despise this anti-suicide society where suicide is purposely made as inaccessible as possible.

Human life is often too long in the civilization because our lives should only be prolonged. Modern medicine keeps us alive longer than our ancestors. We are expected to die of old age which can become a very long-time suffering when there are people who live more than 100 years. Humans are expected to end up in wheelchair in retirement home. It is no wonder that people want to escape this suffering by suicide. But the shark can live more than 400 years! However, there are animal species that have the opposite problem - they are short-lived. Most species of the dragonfly have an adult lifespan of five weeks or less and some survive only a few hours to a few days.
