Waiting to die

One of my three dogs died about two months ago.
She has always been the weakest among the other dogs and had many problems with her health, so I almost have never seen her except when she was out of my parents' bedroom (she sleeps there).
That being said, I am not particularly fond of her compared to other dogs.
But, I've been eating and sleeping in the same house with her for half my life.
The day she died, my mother knocked on my door, crying, announcing her death.
It was very early in the morning, and I usually don't interact with my family members at all, so I just sat at a table in the living room petting the now-dead dog, and then I just went back to sleep.
A while later, my sister knocked on my door, and told me that she and her parents will go out and cremate her and give her a funeral, and that I should join. I didn't reply, and went back to sleep.
