i was feeling a bit hopeful today but i was bored so i made the sad mistake of opening youtube and this is the shit i see

gen z is a failure, the heroin chic comeback, the manosphere problem, 10 videos on the wilbur soot situation, gender war commentary, it's the end of the world, gen z sucks, gen z can't grow up, new consumerism trend, misinformation about personality disorders, the wilbur soot drama AGAIN, new youtube predator exposed, gen alpha can't read, why you should buy more useless bs to finally fix your life, more misinformation about other topics, blah blah blah blah blah blah blah

it's all slop designed to make me angry and i give up trying to find an enjoyable video
the hope is gone, i want to die even more
i need to put my phone down and go read a book to try and forget the circus i was born into
(being a little dramatic here im just sick of it. "hey look! looook!!!! come think about this problem and this problem that i totally actually care about and i'm not just profiting off you clicking on my video hehe!! :3")

I completely understand. I tend to obsess over politics and everything horrible going on in the world on a daily basis. The world is and will continue to be a miserable place. The key for growth, if you're looking for it, is to accept that it is separate from one's self. Others with platforms use it to spread negativity because that's what makes money. In reality there are a lot of positive things going on consistently. People are not inherently bad as the world wishes us to think.

Yeah that's why digital detox is important. I usually consume a bunch of romance anime to make myself feel better or if my emotional situation allows i leave the house and take my DSLR with me there are always cute animals or plants or fungi to photograph.

This is a good idea. Any time you reach for your phone to mindlessly scroll, try to think to yourself how unproductive and negative it makes you feel. Turning it off entirely is what's helped me before.

Exactly how I feel. And it's not like their wrong either
