When I go to my family for understanding they just told me to not be sad and that I shouldn't cry I was abused by my father for years but I could never come out about it and when I was in a mental hospital I was basically just given pills. Nobody's solution is to ever truly try and connect with you to understand what's wrong it's either "shut up we don't care" or "Take some pills and shut up." I can't wait to be fucking gone this planet is terrible .

And the worst part is 9 times out of ten they'll still blame you for feeling this way or they'll pull a "What could we have done to prevent this "

I hear too just like we a do it seems..

Because its true,, no one will care,, not until we're dead,, and eveb then your death will be used as a pity party souvenir for a short while until it looses its uhhh "freshness"

I often don't want to be helped. I often just want to be left alone.

Besides most people's idea of "helping" a depressed person looks more like wilfully misunderstanding a depressed person in practice.

For most people it's not convenient to help us when we're depressed. It's like the quote goes- "Laugh, and the world laughs with you/ Weep, and you weep alone" :(

Everyone preaches support for mental health, but only as long as your depression is palatable. Get into drugs, self harm (especially when it leaves ugly scars instead of neat lines), stop taking care of yourself and suddenly you're disgusting.
As someone above me said, they only care once you're gone and even then it's moreso about pity than anything else.

i have the same problems here . nobody is gonna try to understand because thats hard .
nobody wants to try to help because people dont ever want to think about anything but themselves .

i guess empathy is just dead .

this exactly... it feels like people dont truly want us to get better. they just want us to stop "acting up" so its less of a burden to them. they give pills or send us to hospitals just hoping itll magically go away. why do they still blame us for wanting to die? because how they treat us just proves it even more, if i died itd be less of a burden to all the people that have to take care of me and my family. thats exactly what theyre proving to me by the way they claim theyre ""helping"". no one truly cares for the less fortunate anymore, the only thing thats important to so many people is just themselves. we all live in such a messed up world, how could you blame anyone for wanting to get out...

There's no way I want anyone to have any funeral or memorial service, fake bastards.
I am glad that "thoughts and prayers" have been called out as the easiest, meaningless, pointless thing to say.
