Nintendo Switch 2 - will you buy one?

I love my Nintendo Switch. I played maybe 4000 hours with it. I still have the console from day one. The fixing of joycons (two times) was cost free.
It was an excellent buy. I love to play in my bed in handheld. In contrast to that buying a Playstation 5 was stupid. But I always sell my consoles.
I hope I get 200 Euros maybe a little bit less for my current Switch. My friends are more hardcore gamers than me. But they are hating in which direction the industry develops. Partly I can understand that. But they criticize the publishers so much. And eventually they (hopefully) buy it eventually. I love to play Splatoon and other games with them.

I am ambivalent whether the purchase on day one is a wise decision. My current switch had the joycon drift but on a low level. It was fixed for free.

The contra arguments are: There will be no hype game for me at the start. Maybe MarioKart but I am not that much of a fan. But the even bigger argument. At the start of a console generation there will be bugs with the hardware. And I fear that. But thus far I had no major issues with any console. I think.

The pro argument: With the PS5 I realized the longer I own a console the more is it worth the money. I got a PS5 pretty late and not that many good games were released (for me). I prefer to play in bed anyway. I think I will buy one eventually anyway. And I will probably not have the nerves to wait until a better model drops.

Which thoughts do you have on it?

Nah. Only thing worth buying it for me is for exclusives but I am fine with missing out on them as I less care about Nintendo's games compared to other games that I can just get on PC. Only reason I have Switch 1 is cus my partner at the time wanted me to play Animal Crossing. I haven't gotten any other games for that console.

I am a degenerate Pokémon grinder and I will but it to play PLZaa and Violet in 60 fps. Hopefully PLA also gets an upgrade. Also love the BotW series, 4K60fps TotK is going to be a fun replay.

If I am alive till then, that is. On the other hand, it releases pretty close to my birthday. Eh, I haven't celebrated in literal decades.

An upgraded edition for the 2 is indeed confirmed for Z-A and it's also confirmed that Scarlet and Violet are getting free updates to work better on Switch 2.

That's right. I didn't hear anything about the original Legends Arceus getting an upgrade. It's a game very dear to my heart. I would love it to get an upgrade as well.

If I'm still alive and physically capable of it, then yes. I really hope Pokémon returns to form with Legends Z-A, and I'd love to play the pokemon GameCube games again.

Do you think the price for the Switch 2 is justified? I have a bigger problem with the price for the games tbh.
I think the Switch 2 could have been 50-70 bucks cheaper. The rest is inflation and the better hardware.

I might buy one later when the new Pokemon games come out if I'm still around but I'm not that interested in the launch games, Donkey Kong and Kirby I'm not interested in and Mario Kart World is not enough for me to buy the system for and other games like Cyberpunk I've already played.

I play mostly everything on my PC and my switch is just a Splatoon machine for the most part. I'll definitely wait it out before I get a switch2. And even then, I'm sure switch2 emulation will eventually be possible.

Probably not. The only game I care about about were Kirbys Air Ride 2 and either way I'm sure emulators and piracy methods will come out in due time. I can hardly justify spending $30 on a game much less $80! It's crazy how expensive games are getting v_v I own a Steam Deck and that is what I play all my games on. I get those wonderful Steam sales hehe I can also run any game I want because it isn't locked down like game consoles are :D!

Dude, I'm just going to stick with my old ass nintendo 3ds and my Miyoo Mini Plus that has hundreds of built in games. I use the laptop for pc games and steam.

AFTER STAYING UP ALL NIGHT CONSTANTLY FUTILELY REFRESHING WALMART AND BEST BUY THEN GAMESTOP IN THE MORNING THEN DRIVING TO THE NEAREST LOCAL GAMESTOP AND WAITING FOR ANOTHER TWO PLUS HOURS I FINALLY DID IT. I NOW HAVE A NINTENDO SWITCH 2 PREORDER THAT SHOULD BE AVAILABLE ON LAUNCH DAY.

I really want to, mostly becauase of the new enhanced BOTW and TOTK Zelda games. But honestly, the marketing is rubbish and they're so privileged to be selling a console that is notorious for stick drift, and having a button that doesn't work unless you pay for a subscription. Part of the reason why I wanted to get it right away was becuase I was was considering ctb'ing in sept. But the SN got confiscated so I'm in no rush now.
