Nintendo Switch 2 - will you buy one?

I went to the market where I ordered it. Despite the fact the Website adviced against doing that if you got no notification that they have it. It was this morning. I saw how a guy just got the Switch 2 in front of my eyes. I said to the staff member I pre-ordered. And they apologized. The pre-ordered Switch 2 are not available yet because they have a different logistics system. I shall come back later in the Day. Roughly 6 hours later I got the notification. I went Immediately to the market and got it.

My closest friends All shitted on the console especially because of the price of the console and of the games. One of them admitted He sort of has fomo when watching Mario Kart gameplay. Gladly I switched to the MK bundle. Now I invited all of them to play with me on my Switch 2. They struggled to admit that they are sort of curious. If one of them falls I think all of them will. (Gaming with friends makes so much more fun.) 2 of them are way more hardcore gamers than me. I am pretty casual.

And Bad sign of my psyche I was still hyped so much that I could not sleep after 4 a.m. My mental health is in a bad condition. I get sleepy way too early and my depression makes it hard to resist falling asleep. And the earlier I Fall to sleep the earlier I wake up. It is an reinforcing mechanism and a true nightmare

But the Switch 2 is really nice. The next thing I will buy will be a new Smartphone.

Mario Kart World is pretty neat so far but I can't wait for Pokémon Legends Z-A now that I've seen how much better Scarlet and Violet are now after the performance updates.

I also tested out Smash Ultimate and found matches load much faster and so do the alternate skins in the character select screen. It's the little things.

No because I'm not wasting my money on a console for children that will have less games than steam. The few exclusives will be emulated in a week of their release. Even then I won't play them because IDGAF about Pokemon, Mario, and other kids games.

I already have a modded Switch 1 with tons of games and basically every emulator it can run with full sets. Unless switch 2 can emulate like PS2/Gamecube, it is very unlikely I'll buy it. I already have a og switch that is basically a portable emulation machine + tons of good games, which is basically everything I want.

So no, I'm gonna save my money.

No, I don't mean "I pay nintendo extra to play old games".
I mean, "I get to choose the games I want and play them for free cause they're like 20 years old man!"

I'm sorry, I just don't get companies that rerelease old ass games with some barebones emulation, and charge current rates, while there's perfectly good free emulators for almost everything, running on almost everything current, and even older hardware (There's Retroarch for PS fucking 2!), with shaders and rewind and much more flexibility.

Look, you want my money I worked hard to earn, give me something more than the free alternatives. The games are good, don't get me wrong, but they're old. You're just giving them money to play old games you probably own.

Way too broke for it, I got a switch and that's enough for now (Otherwise I'd buy anything I could get my hands on)
