Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UKβs Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

'This is the case on many websites that list multiple methods of suicide and even try to induce mentally fragile subjects to partake in
them [56]. Such free and often uncontrolled communication, which borders on illegality,
causes extreme situations such as suicide to be ever closer and more realistically feasible.'
'More precisely, from the perspective of prevention and public health, it appears
to be important to protect the categories that are at risk by limiting the diffusion of content
alluding to the use of sodium nitrite for suicidal purposes'
Can you show me an example where someone is trying to induce or encourage anyone to do anything against their will?its funny to me when people turn to censoring reality in order to 'protect' 'mentally fragile subjects'. imagine a world where we just never talked about anything related to the possibility of suicide. bet that would work just dandy. thank you for this pdf, very intriguing and the data in the graphs is nice to look at. we should get this in resources thread or something if it isnt already.
Yes, I feel sad for future generations, who may have limited availability for methods that are peaceful, humane, available, fast and safe in cases of failure."Given the spread of the phenomenon, it would be advisable, on the one hand, to implement tight checks of online content"

not a single oneCan you show me an example where someone is trying to induce or encourage anyone to do anything against their will?
Without those people having been banned almost instantly?
A lot of them had Diphenhydramine (Benadryl) in their system. I wonder why.You know.. I wonder how much research was put into the method or if most of them even followed a guide. I don't see anyone having had meto in their system unless they just weren't able to get it.
There's tons of research chemicals.I sometimes wonder if there are other easily obtainable chemicals out there we haven't yet heard of that would be good to use for CTB. SN was discovered by chance, I believe. I think someone saw an article that it was being used to euthanize animals in Australia. Who knows, maybe there is something out there that works even better than SN just waiting to be discovered.
this is a second-line anti-emetic that is used when you don't have access to first-line ones like metoclopramide.A lot of them had Diphenhydramine (Benadryl) in their system. I wonder why.
Oh thank you for this info!this is a second-line anti-emetic that is used when you don't have access to first-line ones like metoclopramide.
diphenhydramine is taken at 100mg, 30 minutes before drinking the SN.
another second-line anti-emetic is cannabis (smoked, 5-10 minutes before drinking the SN).
PPH talk about both. they may not work as well as meto, but sometimes it they can be better than taking nothing.
Is it clear that if they even looked for meto, or that it would be noted if found? Do you know where in the paper this is covered? You know.. I wonder how much research was put into the method or if most of them even followed a guide. I don't see anyone having had meto in their system unless they just weren't able to get it.
I don't think so, just look at the take off of less bureaucratic groups like Pegasos, I think at some point in future it will be a big businesswho may have limited availability for methods that are peaceful
It seems as though they mention the medications that were found typically they do mention the medications that are found in someone's body during the autopsy. Is it clear that if they even looked for meto, or that it would be noted if found? Do you know where in the paper this is covered?
Personally I don't think it's implied that they searched for every kind of medication. TO search for different kinds of medications takes different tests I think- I don't thinki there is one test that can be run to tesll you every type of medication that a person has taken. They obviously searched for sn because their skin turned blue. IN my opinion it is very likely that a high percentage of these people took meto and other medications that are part of Stan's protocol. I thynk they searched for the sn because it appeared to be the cause of death. For example, I have seen many episodes of forensic files where they searhced for one type of medication and didn't find it but didn't search for another until much later and then found it because it was missing for the doctor's office where they worked, for example. Just the way chemistry works there is no way they can run one test and it will tell you every typs of medication that they took. I do believe that it is very likely that many of these people took meto.It seems as though they mention the medications that were found typically they do mention the medications that are found in someone's body during the autopsy.
idk it most other study like this they show all medications including meto usually if im not mistaken im not thinking that far into it.Personally I don't think it's implied that they searched for every kind of medication. From this perspective, information relating to the action and availability of substances such as sodium nitrite has been made known to the group of the population that uses the web the mostβyoung people [59,60]. The evidence that arose from the 35 studies considered here permits the confirmation of this phenomenon; in fact, it emerged that 90.6% of the subjects who ingested sodium nitrite for suicidal purposes were aged between 15 and 39 years and, thus, belonged to the population that used the internet as a main source of information the most.
Excellent I have plenty of THC gummies! I was worried about getting the anti-emetic. Many thanks to you!this is a second-line anti-emetic that is used when you don't have access to first-line ones like metoclopramide.

It is widely prescribed in medicine, where it is mainly administered as an antidote to cyanide poisoning
Interesting. So if anyone has trouble ordering SN online, just take cyanide and go to the doctor for a prescription.

Contrary to how this place is characterized, young people are always encouraged to look at their options. But no one of any age needs a paternalizing attitude and unwillngness to even try to understand the purpose and ethos of this site. Thanks for posting this, Shu. Interesting study. One stat that jumped out is how youthful the SN subjects were. This is just my opinion: I'm glad there's a recovery forum here as well. While every post I've read is respectful of any choices adults make, with compassion and kindness, CTB at younger ages may result in permanent decisions for conditions that could be temporary. Completely respectful of the absolute right of choices, but hope younger members give weight to other options as well with support from the community.

I remember reading on Reddit one woman's post about how her 27 year old brother died using SN (she didn't mention it by name but it was obviously SN). She said that even though her brother had a seemingly promising future when he was younger (smart, gifted, popular) he developed mental illness so severe that he couldn't function at all and despite endless treatment always wanted to die. She said she understood where he was coming from and probably would've done similarly in his position. But she also talked about how she and her family would work hard to prevent consumers from accessing SN. I found those statements to be at odds with each other. What about other people, young or old, who are in a situation like her brother's?
Where did you get this data might I ask?! Hopeful for me!Woohoo! In my country Canada, 15 out of 15 people who took SN passed away. All of them were intentional ingestions and only 1 was hospitalized but died anyway.
It's on page 4 of the document linked. Search for "Hinkey et al. (2021)"Where did you get this data might I ask?! Hopeful for me!
