Neurodivergence Support Megathread

This is a Megathread where members who struggle with any kind of Neurodivergence can post their experiences, vent, connect with others in a similar situation and give/receive support.

Neurodivergence comes in many forms and can encompass conditions like Autism (ASD), ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia, Tourette Syndrome, and Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), among others.

All is welcome here.

You can post as often or as infrequently as you like. Share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with.

This thread is intended to offer support and guidance for users who struggle with the effects of their neurodivergence and how it affects their lives.

Thanks! technically i am advocating for a whole peer-support section of the forum and this is a response to my suggestion. Basically i argue that while these threads are helpful, it would be much nicer to have a full dedicated peer-support section of the forum and all the functionality that offers

Absolutely, as that is just another term for autism! I'm an autistic person myself, i've been heavily advocating to make a much more robust peer-support section, and i want spaces where people can easily find people they relate and find relatable people. you are welcome here! I also hope that soon we can have a whole dedicated Neurodivergent sub-forum (under a Peer-Support Section) that would enable users to post threads for their experiences.


If anyone wants to support my suggestion for more dedicated peer-support spaces beyond these megathreads (which are useful in themselves), check out my thread and don't forget to upvote!

I also have AuDHD (unmedicated too). I feel like I have some inferiority complex because it seriously feels like all my friends are smarter, more talented, and more educated than I ever will be. My aspergers means I can't ever draw a straight line because my hand-eye coordination is just... screwed.

Also, if this is the neurodivergent thread... do any of you like Glitch Productions or Deltarune? One of the few things holding me back right now--as stupid as it is--is the fact I won't be around to see any more of my favorite Glitch shows or how Deltarune ends, hahaha.

I think I have several "things" though I am undiagnosed. Back "in the day" you were simply labeled a problem child and punished until you were so gunshy you flinched anytime someone moved too fast around you. And then they beat you some more for being "melodramatic."

Hi all, I have a brain injury and the cocktail of fun that comes alongside it. Maybe autism too but I can't get diagnosed bc brain injury. I come and go from this site, it's nice to see the change to more welcoming threads like this.

I wonder how much of me is just being mentally disabled/autistic, lazy or mentally ill. I mean I know things like my sensitivity issues, hyper fixations are from autism but are things like not being able to handle doing a lot of things in a day or work or general self care part of it or that just me being lazy or depressed? I mean I haven't ever washed myself on my own cus of sensitively issues and that I hate feeling clean. I was able to do so much more work in school and now i get overwhelmed with a few hours of doing things. Is it just that i forced my way through school even tho i wasn't able to emotionally handle it and its broken me. It got better a little during college but my productivity just broke again since first relationship break up. God i wish i could be able to function properly so I can finish making things quicker and that i don't want to burden people who i care about i want to be with my mental disability.

I'm a newly diagnosed ADHD person who just started on stimulants, and omg I really can't stay awake without them at all… On the other hand though, it's giving me so much physical symptoms that either way I'm just screwed… It's like there's no escape, either being "lazy" and sleeping 24/7 or having fever/palpitations/no appetite and feel like dying…
