I hope this doesn't sound like bs but that only happens to people who use it in a poor manner. It is an excellent method, but many watch too many movies and try to put it under their chin or temple. Put it to the roof of your mouth and aim for the brain stem.

Then don't survive. Shoot yourself during a bath or near a body of water, so if you survive you die of hemorrhage or drowning. By combining different methods you're upping your chances a lot. Combining firearm + falling sounds good also if you can't summon the courage to jump while conscious.
