I had this thought when I have made a very stupid mistake. I spelled ad (like advertisement) with two d.
Are you sometimes annoyed by stupid mistakes like that? Maybe this question could also be aksed to highly skilled English speakers who are not necessarily native speakers.

Maybe I am just an arrogant fault-finder but I am not sure how I would react when we all would write in my native language. I might would be scared that this decreased my language skills. Yeah I was bullied a lot when I was a teenager for making stupid grammar mistakes this really shaped me.

Probably noone really cares about that. But I am not 100% sure. I am sometimes jealous of English native speakers. So many people from all over the world need to learn your language in order to be educated. I personally wish I had better English skills in order to listen to David Foster Wallace stories on English and understanding everything. But even when I read him in my native language I need to look up like 3-4 technical terms in order to understand him fully. My listening comprehension skills always were only average. Most times it is enough to have conversations but I struggle a lot to understand for example lyrics of music songs.

I had no idea you weren't a native speaker of English. I am.

I am amazed by how many people on here are using a language which is not their first.

Of course I wouldn't get annoyed by mistakes.

I learnt a few European languages which use the Roman alphabet. So I know what it's like to operate in another tongue and culture.

I get annoyed at *native* English-speakers' mistakes, not second/third/etc. language learners who use English.

Like @NearlyIrrelevantCake, I am much more annoyed by native English speakers with sound mental capacities who make basic grammatical and spelling mistakes. And honestly, an extra d in "advertisement" is a pretty minor and benign mistake and one my eyes would just skip right over especially compared to people who regularly misuse they're/their, your/you're, to/too/two, etc.

I'm annoyed by theirs.
I mean, how hard is it to remember that there's a huge difference between "your" & "you're" & that you don't need an apostrophe to pluralize nouns?! You have 2 dogs, not 2 dog's, lazy motherfucker! I learned that in a shitty elementary school in a country where most people either don't speak a word of English or they mercilessly butcher it. No, I'm not Scottish.

I often see native speakers make these types of small mistakes as well. Doesn't bother me.

Not at all. Learning English is difficult enough as it is, mocking someone for their mistakes is just ridiculous.

I end up typing completely different words than what was in my head. I can't even blame auto correct because I don't use it. If I did I would feel completely insane. Fairly sure my brain is dying.

It doesn't matter to me- as long as the intent of their communication is clear it doesn't matter to me, and even if a person's intent is unclear - oh well, at least they're trying. The issues here are too important and people here are hurting too much to be worried about things like this.

Nah, how can I possibly be one to judge when I myself only know one language? Even then I still phrase things awkwardly all the time and my own phone creates some interesting typos with autocorrect and my clumsy thumbs. (How many times have I had to edit a post just because my phone changed it to 'Jill myself' instead of 'kill myself'?)

A lot of people using other languages are using things like google translate rather than know English, and the translators work quite well.

So far I've smashed three cell phones because of you damn foreigners attempting to post, but I'm trying to improve. My therapist has told me to picture my anger as a little red balloon floating off into the sunset. Thankfully it seems to be working.

I also wonder if I ever sound odd or my English expression and writing skills are not refined enough. In my work, I've communicated with a lot of native English speakers so gotten a bit better over the years. If you're unsure about how it's written or how it's spelled, try Grammarly. It's for free and fixes mistakes.

I get annoyed when people transpose CTB with CBT. One is an abbreviation for a euphemism about death; the other, a cannabis product in 32 delectable scents and guaranteed, said the man at the counter, to rid me of my arthritis. I know CTB will.

Meanwhile in The Netherlands you're taught four different languages in school (Dutch, English, French, German).

I don't get annoyed over minor mistakes. I only would if it was hard to read. I'm a native speaker, and I tend to make mistakes. That's usually because I'm typing quickly and not putting too much thought into it.

Would you elaborate on why you think I am struggling (with my English)?
I am curious to learn about your line of argumentation.

I always admired English, American, German and other German speakers speaking Castilian (Spanish). I don't care if they make mistakes, the value of learning a language and trying to communicate with it honors them.

I will always remember the Scots for their patience and good humor when I communicated with them in my poor English.

No, because I'm a poor user of other people's languages myself, and so I know what it is to depend on the magnanimity of native speakers.

your speech lacks the flow/effortlessness of native speakers. mine does too btw so I'm not the best reference
