As for bands, probably Zebrahead and Blink-182, I used to listen to them with my big bro and I continue to like them a lot to this day, as for singers, I would say Stack, her vocal timbre is awesome.

For singer it's Phil Collins. He looks like an accountant but is a rockstar.
For band it's Genesis, because they look like accountants.

Magazine/Howard Devoto. I never shut up about Magazine. I will not. I cannot. Secondhand Daylight is my favorite album. I'm a postpunk fanatic yet I barely (sometimes, sure) see them mentioned among other postpunk fanatics.

Lyrically/vocally, though? Torn between Howard Devoto and Ian Curtis. (Ian always wins. Moody and depressing>cynical and depressing. Still, I prefer the former's voice. For some odd reason; it's that thing people hate about Magazine.)

Currently I'm very into Grimes, Doja Cat. I also love songwriters like Regina Spektor, Leonard Cohen, Jeff Buckley, Sufjan Stevens, Mac de Marco, Mac Miller, Dolly Parton, Bjork. It's very hard to choose an all time favorite but I do have a special admiration for songwriters.

I looooove Amy winehouse, Lene Marlin I discovered her by accident, I was very young when her songs came out. I also love old style hip hop/rock like linkin park and limp Biskit. Sarah Mclahan is underrated so much, she's like an angel singing, Enya , Enigma, House Music, Drum snd base, well that's a lot slready. Your turn.
Favourite singer is Layne Staley from Alice in Chains and Tina Dico from zero 7. Im into too many genres of music to have a favourite band etc.

BoA would be my no. 1 favorite. I was hooked after hearing every heart on Inuyasha and I've been a fan ever since.

I actually hope I go before she does, I'd be devastated when she passes. I didn't know I'd feel that strongly about an artist until Chester from Linkin Park died and I was really upset and sad when I found out. I really liked Linkin Park and connected to their songs but they don't come close to how much BoA songs mean to me, so I know I'd be a wreck if she goes before I do.

This thread is really cool so many good bands mentioned here.

I like a lot that has been mentioned but I'll write additional ones.

I have so many favorite singers and bands. I can't list a favorite one. I can't even think of them all for here. Anyone like Neutral Milk Hotel?

I also like Carpenter Brut, Kendrick Lamar, Röyksopp, Robi Draco Rosa, sonic youth, my bloody valentine, daft punk, thievery corporation, Kanye, way out west, Sade, low roar, Erykah Badu, Café Tacuba, Parliament
Héctor Lavoe.

These are just some.

9muses and Twice (Korean pop groups). Though seeing and listening to them make me really dysphoric. Maybe i like them because I am projecting? Idk.

I love a whole lot of different musicians and have kind of an eclectic musical taste. Two of my favorite are Melissa Etheridge and Evanescence. Yeah, I'm a mainstream kinda gal. Be nice- I'm old!! 😂

Car Seat Headrest!!!! I can talk about my love for Will Toledo's work for hours. Beach Life-In-Death is a 13 minutes and 18 seconds masterpiece that has greatly changed my life. If anyone listens to them, please hit me up. I'd like to talk to someone who loves them as much. :D

:wumpscut:, Yakui the Maid, Chikoi the Maid, Alstroemeria Records, Tsundere Violence (technically a record label but they release a lot of good music), Aural Vampire and Whitehouse.
:wumpscut: helps me with my usual feelings of anger and sadness. Mostly the former.
Yakui and Chikoi are for when I'm particularly depressed since they have a very dark and cold feel to their music. Something I can just chill out to when I'm in a messed up place.
Whitehouse helps me vent my repressed rage. I'm talking when I have the urge to just smash anything in my path while screaming like a banshee. Probably the best thing to happen to my mental health, if anything. "Wriggle Like A Fucking Eel" is my personal go-to.
The rest I just like. Nothing more to it.
