I tried to light charcoal last night, for a test to see how best to light it as I haven't used charcoal before. It wouldn't fkn light up. I tried methods suggested on YouTube. I tried lump charcoal, I tried briquettes. Nothing. I tried kerosene infused firelighters, which stunk so much I could smell it from one paddock over. Nothing.

I've lived off grid for 10 years and know how to light a fire since I have a woodstove and a firepit. I do a garbage burn off in the cooler months, before Summer, because there's no garbage collection out here. I know how to light a bloody fire. Charcoal tests my patience.

I will try the old school method today. Kindling, smaller pieces of wood, then medium pieces of wood, then charcoal. That should get it going. I swear to Dog, I'm not a noob at lighting a fire. This is some bullshit.
