Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Anyone else deal with mysterious health issues that you just have to live with because doctors refused to look into them? Personally, I've been excessively weak and short of breath my whole life. I couldn't do sports like the other kids because my body just wouldn't let me. In secondary school, I developed severe daytime sleepiness where I would fall asleep in class multiple times a day every day and I would just get reprimanded whenever I got caught, and the whole school laughed at me. Now, since getting my wisdom teeth out, I've developed awful back pain and tmj pain that wasn't there before. I exercise to try to get rid of the back pain but whenever I exercise I'm basically incapacitated for the entire day. So now I'm 22 years old but I look 40 and feel 80.

I've begged multiple doctors to look into it and they just brushed me off. My current doctor who seems a little bit more competent than the others actually has referred me for testing, but I couldn't afford to do because my insurance doesn't cover it. What's frustrating though is that because I'm not diagnosed with anything, it's not recognized that I have a limited capacity to do things. So I'm not seen as someone who barely leaves my apartment and only works part time because I physically have to, but as someone who does those things because I'm a pathetic loser, which I guess I am.

I wonder if being ugly has contributed to this. I've noticed that when you are ugly, people don't get worried about you in situations where they would for attractive people. They just get mad at you, lol. It's like doctors, just like everyone else, see my face and WANT me to suffer. So they do everything in their power to make sure that's the case

So many things are physically wrong with me that were unexplained for so long and still so many remain this way too. Most doctors are simply awful, incompetent, cruel, ignorant, straight up ableist etc.
When society treats a job so highly, it attracts the worst, most selfish, ego driven people, especially since doctors have so much power over the most vulnerable people too.
I'm so sorry for what you are going through, you deserve so much better. All of those things are very concerning and you should have been taken seriously from the start.
Disabled/chronically ill people really get fucked over with how hard it is for us to work while also having much higher living expenses than healthy people.
You are not a loser, you didn't choose any of this and you are going against horrible odds even if many people don't recognize your struggles.

It's really hard finding a doctor/consultant/health practitioner who is doing more than required to just merely make a living and not be negligent. Unless there's a clear cut medical case with no ambiguity, many don't seem incentivised to get to the crux of a problem and exhaust the full range of diagnostic tools at their disposal.
