Venting My Sister Killed My Cat and the Grief is Killing me

I will preface this with my sister 12 and is my foster sibling due to serious mental, emotional, and verbal abuse at the hands of her Dad. But that doesn't change how I feel.

She was told she had to wait to walk to 7/11 so she got mad and beat my cat, Leo, to death alongside with squeezing. The grief is eating me alive and I have completely stopped functioning. My breath is and body odor is awful but I can't seem to force myself out of it. All I think about is the memories with my cat and killing myself. I hate her so much and my cat died in agony because of her. She didnt even seem sorry for doing it. Fuck my worthless awful life

You say your sister went through a lot of abuse. No doubt she's changed for the worse because of it. That's still no excuse for killing a poor, defenseless animal. People do go through shit and still turn into decent adults.

I've seen a few kids act out in this way when I was a kid myself. Even my dad had a bunch of rabbits that were casually killed by his cousin when he came over. Also, my dog was beaten by one of my school seniors when he came over to my home once.

But your situation is completely different. I'm so sorry. The death of a pet is brutal. I hope you can heal.
