i tried to CTB a couple of days ago , but it failed i chose charcoal burning suicide because i heard that CO is "painless" "the silent killer" and so on , i also read about a lot of celebrities using it and dying , but sadly my last attempted failed

-my location of choice was our very small bathroom , it's so small you can't even lay down straight in it
-i used 3kg of lump charcoal , i waited it until it became grey and glowing , then i put it in
- i used some headache pills before i went it , so i don't feel any symptoms
-finally , i went in

sadly that didn't work , despite how much charcoal i used and the small bathroom and the pills i ate , i couldn't stay in , because within 10 or 20 mins of me inside the bathroom i started feeling like i was suffocating , my heart was tapping rapidly , and i started feeling very dizzy , the reason i left is because i was feeling like i was gonna get brain damage or i wasn't gonna die (i also felt like i was suffocating to death not passing out , which didn't help) that's it

the CO method is always know to be painless , that you don't feel anything , the silent killer , this didn't go as i thought ,i honestly don't know if i stayed this would've worked , after i left i was sick the whole day , nausea vomiting fatigue and dizziness , thankfully the next day i woke up okay
the weird thing is that i have seen examples of people using this method , very small amount of charcoal and succeeding , a k pop celebrity used small amounts of a frying pan in his bedroom and he died ,a Japanese broadcaster used small amounts in her car (i have seen the picture very little charcoal in a hibach) and she died. did they feel the same symptoms i have felt and didn't leave?
am i at fault? please be honest and thank you for reading

It´s not CO2, it´s CO (carbon MONoxid) ! Did you seel the room properly? Did you follow this guide?:

Of course it´s a painless method. But still, you can develop some physical symptoms until you become unconscious.

I attempted on Tuesday and failed. You can read my experience if you like.
There are several things I will do differently.
In the case of others that succeeded, even with small amounts of charcoal, they may have used other things to induce sleep. It's all about concentration and exposure time. The higher the concentration of CO the shorter the time of exposure needed for unconsciousness to occur.
Lots of useful advice from other members on here.

It's your call to use same method again or not

"perhaps seal it better this time?" So you didn't seal it properly before?

Don't play with co, do it only if you are sure about it

what you said in the end is very true , i should do it only if it's gonna work
i don't think the sealing was the problem , perhaps if i drank some sleeping pills and slept it would have worked. the very small room and amount of charcoal made me think it was gonna work , i just hope it'll work next time

thank you for your time and reply

Did you use co meter to measure?

Was the room had smoke of any kind?

Where did you burn your charcoal?

Oh I know a girl Callie she tried like 3 times and failed but worked the fourth time. It's all about trial and error.

However, it's all up to you if you want to try the same method or not.

All the best

1.question: I´m not allowed to tell you if and what you should do.
2.question: I don´t know the room, so I don´t know if you have done everything right. But it has to be perfectly sealed.

im sorry your attempt failed.

i have been researching this method recently - i didn't realise how complex it is to pull off.

you definitely need to do a lot of research - timings and patience are important with the CO method :)

maybe you failed because you had to put burning coal in the bathroom and wait a few minutes so the carbon monoxide would build up and as soon as you entered you would immediately pass out. I think about this method too, the only thing that blocks me is fear but I think I will. Maybe you could read my last post and tell me what you think.

A meter that measures a high enough CO level, 10000 PPM, ( ten thousand PPM ), costs around $320. Lots of people die each year from CO poisoning at lower levels while they're sleeping, but keep in mind they're already sleeping. Trying to get the level of CO up to 10000 PPM in a room, even a room as small as the one you describe, will take a lot of charcoal, especially if it isn't sealed well enough. How many tents do you think you could fit into your small bathroom, as far as utilizing all of the space, including up to the ceiling? It would be a lot easier in a tent. You could try again after sealing the room better and getting much more charcoal. If you can get a meter and get the level up to 10000 PPM, you should become unconscious after just a few breaths, which is what you should aim to do. That way you'll pass out quickly, won't be aware of any discomfort, and death should follow within just a few minutes after becoming unconscious.

Next attempt 25th of June which is my birthday. If I don't post again then it will have been successful.
Diazepam on order for sleep.
In two minds whether to order a CO meter and do a test run. I have found one on eBay that measures up to 10000 ppm.
One thing I will be ordering is a coal chimney starter.

You get headaches with CO. Used to be a big problem in Korea couple decades ago when people were still using charcoal for heat. You get stories like someone in the family woke up with a terrible headache, family unresponsive and somehow miraculously was able to call for help and save the family. So it affects people differently. Maybe depends on how deep of a sleeper you are.

Sleeping pills little before the try might help? Take some, take some tylenols, smolder charcoal in the room, and then drift off. And like mentioned, good seal. I think if you're not found in time you have good chance of ctb rather than surviving with brain damage. Might be a bit of a balancing act though between too much CO that your body freaks out vs too little and you fail.

yes that what i was thinking

i'll stay awake for a day and drink sleeping pills this way as soon as i enter i'll fall asleep , only problem is....

That's a pretty good question I'm also wondering about. On the one handside we want to have a very high concentration to pass out quickly, but on the other handside when we open a door / tent to enter after some time the concentration may fall quickly. Besides that we may want to seal the door/opening from the inside before we pass out. That a little bit like the hen&egg problem.

Lately I found a post from someone measuring CO concentrations back in 2018 which looks very informative to me.
