i saw "the room next door", and basically it's about a woman commiting euthanasia (illegaly) with support from her friend. (support in case is just company and not actual assistance)

i'm not too sure what i think about it as a whole honestly, but the aspect of the movie that got me thinking the most was about how traumatizing seeing someone die is.
it's not about the idea, because i do rationally think a person in pain deserves the choice to die (and the support for it), but when you actually get to it, of course it's a very traumatizing experience.

not a very pleasant thought for a suicidal person in general, but it made me curious about assisted suicide, since a lot of people here both seek and help others needing it.

i never thought about doing it for all the many reasons, but i wonder how you'd feel during it. it's a scary thought

I feel like a large part of it is how stigmatized the death of humans/suicide is . Animals get euthanized all the time , and while it's upsetting , it's accepted . I wish we could feel the same way about people

I wasn't expecting to come across a movie recommendation here, but I'll take it.

The part about the "suicide pill" is made-up. As we know there's no such thing, unless you're talking about cyanide which is very "not peaceful." Nembutal, perhaps the inspiration, requires more than one "pill" and premedication. But setting the technical details aside, it's a decent movie.

I watched a wonderful film about euthanasia with Eva Green in the lead role. It's called "Euphoria"
