I disagree with this. The rules should apply to everyone and I think you have to look at the broader context and read between the lines a bit here. The reality is that she regularly attempted to troll, and passively aggressively take potshots at large segments of the userbase in her threads. She actively discouraged any kind of hope or recovery which on its own is egregious enough. I don't think the board needs that kind of reputation and with her dominance on here, it was clearly fuelling a brand of nihilism that nobody in a vulnerable state should be influenced by.

So, where would you draw the line for allowing people back?

People getting off on inciting others to kill themselves?

Homophobic's bullying LGBT?

A person who has admitted to raping someone else?

A individual openly selling SN?

Someone who accuses others of criminal acts because they just don't like what they did?

The Mods / Admin have rules. When you sign up, you sign up to the rules. It would be an absolute nightmare trying to let some back and not others. It doesn't matter who the person is, once the threshold for banning has been met, it's been met.

I tried to explain the same in many of my own posts but this is very well explained. I have thought the same thing. Dominant and agressive evangelizing

I'm the one who said it in the megathread. I assume she was banned for "spam" and calling out "pro-lifers" (which to her is anyone who is not pro-death.)

My reasoning is that she's the number one poster on here and has a unique situation where if you spend a day on here you get her schtick. Ignore if you don't want to see it. A LOT of people like it. So, to me, when you have someone controversial but beloved you leave them for the people who like them to get that content. Plus, one of these days she was going to respond to one of my comments.

I can respect your opinion with what you're saying, but she's suffering so badly with nowhere to go anymore. She doesn't think like others. She thinks through an autistic mind. She's not a bully, she doesn't understand out of her own mind. She doesn't mean any harm to anyone. She's always so supportive to others sufferings and is always there to show her support on peoples postings.She didn't understand recovery, or how it could ever be possible, but that doesn't make her bad. It makes her lost, lost in a world that she can't see any good in. Do we just throw her away like garbage for not being able to see things like others could? I'm just very sad about this.

I can respect what you are saying and I absolutely understand that there are rules. I myself wouldn't even want to break them as this community means a lot to me and is the only place that we have to speak the unspeakable to other people's standards. It's just that she couldn't see past her mind and she didn't mean to hurt or upset anyone. She's suffering and she can't see any good. She's never been happy not one day of her life. She's stuck and now has nowhere to go.

The forum should not be configured entirely to suit the feelings and demands of one individual user, had this been recognised and addressed at any point over the previous two years she'd probably still be here.

Exceptions should not be made for a user over being prolific on the board and having vocal supporters, she had as many dissenters as supporters. Rules are laid out for you to adhere to.

she was banned due to a warning that put her over the ban threshold. she was disrespectful, inflammatory and unnecessary, attacking both mods and users and downplaying the feelings of others. we've told her multiple times to use past posts instead of making duplicates and she never would abide, we'd also give her verbal and regular warnings to try and change her behaviour over the last few years for other things. she'd attack users for disagreeing with her and call them pro-life.
she would also often make threads being disrespectful to other peoples opinions from previous threads and that would provoke people to comment on said thread. this would lead to a lot of her threads going up in flames and having to be locked and have warnings be applied.

for the time being she will stay banned for at least a month. we will come back to it then.
