Today is the one year Anniversary of Mizore passing away
Mizore was about 3 when he was transferred to a different aquarium for a breeding program which people considered strange since ringed seals aren't at sexual maturity until they're 7. While he was at the other aquarium, people noted that his enclosure was much smaller, had little to no enrichment, had no other seals, and also had barely any human interaction. These are the conditions he passed away in. Alone. Scared. Far away from his home where he was loved and appreciated.
He was a very difficult pregnancy. He was rejected by his mother. So the staff at his original aquarium took care of him. As a result he was very people socialized. Many noted at he loved hugging people. When workers would go into his enclosure he'd always hug their leg or just in general.
He was full of love, yet he died alone and scared.
I wish there could be justice for Mizore. A beautiful little ringed seal who was so full of life and potential if it wasn't for greedy and selfish humans.
Maybe that's why I'm posting a thread instead of just making another profile post. He deserves his own recognition away from my personal posts about whatever is ailing my life.
Rest in Piece little Mizore, I hope you're in a big enclosure that stretches for miles. With a big ice shelf just like the one in your previous home. Where you can play as much as you want with other seals and with as many staff members as you can hug
Fly high, little Mizore
