• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I have therapy tomorrow morning and I feel like she's gonna make me go to ED if I'm honest. It feels like a waste of $200 to just lie and not talk about everything that's going on, which includes this site and the partial suspension I've been doing (not to try and die, just to practice and get used to it). She is NOT gonna be happy I'm on here lmao. And that I've been hanging. I have no date in mind so I'm not in immediate danger if that makes sense. But she may see the hanging as dangerous enough to section me.

Wish me luck lol

If she's a good therapist, she will be relieved that you trust her enough to tell her this. Yes, hospitalization is a risk if she feels that your health is in jeopardy, but she'll likely be more grateful that you've sought help then mad at you for needing that help.

She is a great therapist. I've managed to avoid hospitalisation before by getting her to realise it would make me worse off. I can't stay long term bc of my job and ED can only hold me for 12 hours. I'm hoping she will see that they can't help me

So update. She (with the help of a friend who went behind my back) did indeed send me to ED but I was at least able to convince her I could drive myself and didnt need an ambulance. Spent about 6 hours there in the mental health space, no hold, I was there voluntarily. Spoke to 2 nurses and a couple peer support workers (no qualifications besides having experienced mental illness personally), every individual person was lovely but nobody really… helped. I think my friend and psychologist were hoping they'd offer me an inpatient bed, but they discharged me with a few pamphlets and a follow up appointment with a psychologist in a week.

Super productive and helpful. Adding this to my stash of reasons hospitals are not helpful (my other example is the time I went in via ambulance after intentionally ODing and a similar thing happened. I can do a storytime if anyone is interested)

There you go! Mental health care in Australia for you.
