I have switched around some of the guns that I own recently. I have a 6 inch barrel .367 magnum revolver, a .45 acp Glock automatic pistol, and I did have a 9mm Glock. I traded the 9mm today for a pump 12 gauge shotgun. The .357, with it's 6 inch barrel, will def do some damage. But, if I go the firearm route I hope to go right off, with a well placed shot. No pain. Not time to suffer. The .357 in the mouth going to the roof of the mouth, angled to get the brain and stem, should do it. More so with the half jacketed, half soft hollow point, bullets I got. However, the 00 Buck I have in this shot gun should keep (still placing the shot optimally) the suffering to...hopefully....nonexistent. I couldn't help but worry the .357 might possibly leave time before the total end?? Doesn't seem like it unless the shot sucks. But the 00 Buck leaves far less of a chance.

Sounds like a good plan and I would go with the 00 buckshot for more reliability.

Both people in my life who successfully CTB used the rifle.

But they also left a huge mess for their finders. Choose carefully...

I live in a place where no family is immediately nearby. I don't know how things will go down after it, if I do it. But, I know what you mean, and what I think I'll do is tape a large ziplock bag to myself with a note saying whatever I want the stranger authorities to know. This would include as much identification as possible, and, the contact information for my mother who lives very far away. This is for being a shitty mother who didn't take care of me my whole life. I figure she neglected me me most of my life. She can take responsibility for this. I plan on closing out everything for myself before I go, and scraping everything together I can and sending it to her to cover as much as I can for covering things. I hope no one I know and care about has to see and/or identify me. I hope not, if I take care of things before hand so as to leave as little information needed afterwards. This is all that I'll do if I do it in an area that I plan on being found. I feel sorry for whoever has to see and handle me. But, it is part of what they do. Sometimes it'll be really bad.

Damn... hugs first and foremost. I hear your pain.

I think death, just like birth, is never a pretty sight. I don't care how much people talk about how beautiful it "was" but pushing out a baby or having it cut out of you isn't aesthetically pleasing. Neither is death.

We come in like a hurricane, and we leave like one too.

Much peace to you, my friend.

Dear Laststop, I wouldn't want to discourage anyone in their chosen method, but somewhere in these forums a person talked about how a person's hand can jerk when shooting. You've no doubt seen the pictures...Just please be careful :I (hugs)

@Asta Your concern is very valid. I too have read the stories about people who have hurt themselves horribly and failed to CTB. While I'm as susceptible as anyone to fail using a firearm when trying the CTB, as I can't say what shape I'd be in at the time, I do have a couple things going for me. One is that I'm aware of it. And the other is I was an Infantryman. We use to practice not flinching by placing coins or washers on the barrels of our rifles and dry firing. Also, they would give us a magazine with an unknown number of blanks with one of them being spent, without us knowing where in the magazine it was. We would fire the blanks, with a recoil to it, and when we reached the blank with no powder in it the Sargent watching us could see if we moved due to expecting the recoil. So I have some practice with it.

Oh, my gosh, that certainly does make a difference! Since you show a girl sitting on a suit case, I just assumed... :shy: Is my face red! I'd say you have a lot going for you! So much so that it's sad to think of you leaving. Any mother should feel proud to have you for a son, and I wish you all the best on your journey!

I wondered if people would assume I was a girl because of the avatar! I chose it for the "taking the bus" thing here. Thank you for your kind words. Yes, my mother is a piece of work.
