• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

So ... full honesty ... I am "frontline staff".
I am in the ambulance service, I go to people with mental heath crisis for my job.
But I've been in a mental health crisis for a long time. I have been a mental health patient since I was in primary school, I've been suicidal since then too. I'm wondering how many people here are in the same boat. Who here tells people daily that it will all be okay/ there is so much to live for yet doubts that it's true ...
I've always been "unwell" but it's worsened lately as I'm so much more aware that MH in this country is fucked, and my nihilism is In overdrive. The service I work for is basically an abusive relationship, and I struggle to go on.
Who else is frontline and hates lying to people about hope ?

I am not sure encouraging people is the same as "lying" If you do not see a reason to go on, but someone else does, which is true?

You may have a depressive neurology that acts to reject consideration of things you can do to feel better. This can inhibit experimentation with things like diet, supplements, exercise, sleep schedule, or other things that might make improvements.

To tell someone that things can be better is not a lie, it is an accurate description of possibility..

Ex er nurse and ex mortician, I completely get where you are coming from. Ever since I left the field I've seen myself get so much worse mentally...

I'd lie to everyone just to make myself feel better at the end of the day ... even if it emotionally fucked me up at a later date.
