I have a Glock 19 with 124gr 9mm hollow points, and I'm planning on shooting myself through the roof of the mouth, aiming for the brain stem at a 45 degree angle as I've seen recommended on here. I haven't been to the range in years, but I've practiced dry-firing and checking the angle in the bathroom, where I have a tri-view medicine cabinet mirror, making it easier to see the profile of my head. I think I have the angle down, I even got a picture of an old MRI of my head to use as a reference, but I'll make sure to practice more in the days leading up to my attempt.
I'd prefer a shotgun, but I live with family, so I don't have an easy way of acquiring a shotgun and hiding it, plus the house is rarely ever empty. A major fear that's still holding me back is that I'll pull the trigger but somehow mess up the angle just enough that I survive because someone in the house calls emergency services, and they arrive quick enough to intervene before I bleed to death or drown in my own blood. I live in a major metropolitan area and I don't have a car, so driving out into the woods is tricky.
I could just wait for a day when the stars align and my relatives are all out of the house, though I don't know how long that'll take and the sooner I get this over with, the better. I'm hoping to do it in the bathroom where I have the mirror to confirm the angle, so I was also thinking of barricading the bathroom door to buy myself more time, but it'd be hard to do discreetly. Or should I buy a portable 3-way mirror, try to find a relatively isolated area within Uber-able distance (maybe one with a body of water?), and do it out there? Or do that but at a hotel or motel, and barricade the door? Are there any other things I might be overlooking in my plan?
