• Hey Guest,

An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.

Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.

I was scrolling on Instagram reels one day and I came across somebody who attempted by overdosing on sleeping pills (or atleast what i remember) , somehow they managed to lose their legs and apparently the reason was because the muscles in their legs died and so.. is it true there are risks like thus? I've always known it'd be bad but never imagined to lose legs.

The lack of details says this story is not real and/or there was something else going on. It is plausible, but I do not believe these stories unless details are given.

Trying to OD on sleeping pills does not usually work anyway and should not be tried as a method.

this isn't a concern. sleeping pills can cause temporary muscle weakness, but not even an overdose of sleeping pills would result in something like that.
there are some medications that cause muscle deterioration over time, but i don't recall any of them being sleeping pills. though, even then, losing a limb wouldn't be a concern. muscle deterioration can be spotted easily and treated before the muscle is at risk of dying.
the only way i could see this being true doesn't involve the muscles death. like most methods, overdosing on sleeping pills can cause brain damage; but complete loss of function over a limb would be pretty crazy.
muscle death (that couldn't be treated/resulted in loss of a limb) is almost always caused a very grievous injury, every other semi-consistent cause is pretty rare. considering that this isn't even considered a cause, i really don't think there's any need for concern here.
apologies for any shitty grammar. i'm really sleepy, but i hope my message is still clear. just tell me if something sounds dumb, lol.

please stay safe. i feel like i've already yapped my ass off, but i still want to remind you that overdosing on sleeping pills is a very bad idea. permanent damage is a very real possibility and it's just not worth it.
feel free to reach out if you need anything.

I once read about someone who lost their legs to a heroin overdose. Basically, the position they passed out in cut off circulation to the legs for hours, and they had to have them amputated.

I had a friend who was an opiate addict & nodded out with his legs underneath him. He didn't lose limbs but never walked normally again. 🤗🌹💔

Anything that is sedating (z-drugs, benzos, opiates, alcohol) can cause you to pass out in positions that cut off circulation to limbs. I heard of a guy who passed out under a table from drinking, and his legs were numb when he woke up. Had he awoken just a bkt later he would have had to get them amputated. I once passed out from drinking while leaning on my bed. When I woke up my hand was almost completely numb for hours. I freaked out but all feeling and function returned fully.

Side note: overdosing on sleeping pills (if meaning Z-drugs) never works for suicide.
