Hey,
We are working on adding more resources into our recovery section, and we need help finding good LGBTQ+ resources to add to it.

So if anyone has LGBTQ+ resources that could be useful, please post them below.

Thank you for asking this. I'm always glad to help and take part of something bigger, when it comes to fighting for human rights.
Here are some online, international resources in English that I currently know of:

Websites

NameBrief descriptionLink(s)
LGBT+ Equality IndexHandy and reliable website on queer rights worldwide (mostly comparing countries, on things such as rights, laws, freedoms, public attitudes...)
Amnesty InternationalAmnesty International webpage on LGBTQ+ resources (wide variety of content: different kind of media, concise and more in-depth, from different countries...)
Cambridge University Students' Union Campaign for LGBT+Very inclusive and straight-to-the-point resources from student Cambridge organization (simple, clear and inclusive language; youthful, peer-to-peer point of view, easily understandable from for non native-speaker/who is new to the topic too; the website has different links, resources, materials...)
TED TalksLGBTQ+ related TED Talks (talks and playlists, speakers, blog posts...)
Helplines, and moreFilter national and international helplines (email, text, phone, websites) - e.g. type "gender and sexual identity" in the second field, click on "LGBTQ+" filter blue; more resources and info to check out on websites
Manaaki Tāngata Victim SupportVery extensive information, resources and support on different topics - including a section dedicated to hate crimes/incidents (+pages on related-topics as well, such as sexual violence family violence and harm, assault, stalking and harassment). From first steps, practical matters, emotional and medical support, tips, both if it happened to you or someone you know etc. Please note that some details (e.g. specific phone numbers, laws and regulations) may vary per country

More ideas
  • Creating guides on:
    • How to look for more LGBTQ+ resources (e.g. which keywords to type, google search tricks)
    • Recognizing and reporting scams (e.g. online therapy/peer-to-peer services which claims to be free but are not, bad environment communities who ends up not being not a real safe space for LGBTQ+ people)
    • How to tell if a website is usually reliable
  • Including a wider variety of media
    • As every one of us is different, we all have limitations and personal preferences, our brain can better process things in different ways depending on each person. So, offering a wider range of media options for resources could result more inclusive, and accessible to more people
    • Example of other media we could tell about: books and movies (fiction or not, more or less traditional, standard), poetry, art (artists, photography, design), content creators of different platforms (YouTube videos), songs, podcasts; real people and fictional characters to take inspiration from, personal experience (ours included, if we want and even anonymously, or from sources) - in order to feel less alone in this
    • Local, offline organizations and opportunities, offices, places, events, workshops, exhibitions; profit and non-profit, public/private, more or less independent from governments/political parties organizations, offices; other trustworthy stuff
  • More inclusive and gentle as possible
    • Since we come from different parts of the world, we could collaborate in order to find and share more local/national, niche (reliable and high-quality, but difficult to find) resources. To avoid revealing our personal data in public, country we reside in included, we could do this via anonymous ways (such as a google form, DMs to moderators/specific volunteers...)
    • I propose this because some of us may feel more comfortable when interacting with someone in their native language and culture; or even gain more accurate information for the country they are interested in;
    • It's important to treat this topic right, as it can be personal and heavy - for some, this could even be the reason why they are on this forum and have been trying to ctb
    • We need to find a way to ensure that what we recommend is non stereotypical, offensive, superficial... but accurate and reliable
