typing this on my broken phone that suffered damage during ny fall in my pocket. Soo this my 2nd time attempting and failing full suspension, both of whivh ended with mee on the ground in insufferable pain because the rope broke.

I'm currently surroundded by neighbors and some of my family (most of my immediate family is in my village) and the usual "hOw CoUlD yOu dO tHiS to yOur fAmiLy" tirades are happening.

Honestly... I just feel so ddeflated. I cantr wait till everyonr goes away so I can just cry and cry and cry. I think this is the lastt time I try hanging. It's clear I'm too overweight for it and any rope is gonna break.

And it's just mot worth it. The pain from going backk conscious is so extreme, it felt like an eternity of suffering befroe i could take aa bretah.

I really wish I lived in a developed counrry so i can get a gun or SN but unfortunately life isnt fair. Regardless i love you all so fuckking much necausey youre the only people who understand what I'm going through. Gonna log off now

That sucks :/ is there any way to ship SN from another country?
Maybe you could ask someone to send it to you?

Im sorry you've been through that. I too only really have full suspension hanging available and that sucks - I've tried partial many times but it just got super painful/uncomfortable and I injured my throat once. Full suspension sounds like incredible torture. You must be very resolved to have even tried it. I wish I could do it. Maybe one day. Maybe if I get drunk enough.

Sorry you are going through this :( if you are comfortable answering, may I ask what type of rope you used and how much you weigh? I'm undecided between hanging or paying the price and risk with N

I'm just over 100 kgs and I used an iron rope (the clothes straightening kind). Originally I bought a static climbing rope and I was planning on using that but it literally disappeared overnight and so I had to use the ironing rope.

If you have a rope that you're 100% sure won't break then hanging isn't actually that painful. In both my attempts i only felt minor discomfort before going unconsious. But if the rope breaks then best case scenario you're going to be in excruciating pain for what feels like eternity once your body is regaining consciousness or worst case scenario a vegetable. For me personally I've completely given up on hanging because the cons far outweigh the pros.

I'm so sorry, dealing with the aftermath of that must be unbearable.

if you think weight is the issue it might be worth trying partial? but it's understandable if you've been put off the method altogether after this. sending love your way

Sorry to hear that :( I hope you find a better method if that's still what you want.

I have a static climbing rope. It's 10mm thick and 10m long. it seems very strong and according to the listing on Amazon it can withstand 2,600 pounds, I weigh about 180 pounds

It's pretty much the same thickness of a pencil. I used a piece of an old shirt as padding and it didnt really hurt at all

Aren't you supposed to use a thicker rope when resorting to full suspension. So the rope can hold your body weight?

Yes and the thicker climbing rope I was planning to use disappeared so I had to resort to Plan B

You can still try to get another one with the added precaution of hiding it somewhere safe.

How did you put the padding on your neck? Did you put the old shirt all the way around your neck? Did you fold the old shirt in half first? Did it cover your whole neck? I ask bc I don't want my trachea or my neck to hurt and I am seriously considering putting some sort of padding on my neck so that I can do full suspension.

I'm not that well informed. But my plan is to use a heavy wool sock around the noose but keep it short(5"?) so that my carotid artery's is where the blood flow is constricted. Any advice is appreciated.

Sorry for the late reply. Yes I put the shirt all the way around my neck, no i did not fold it. I specifically chose a thin shirt because i was afraid if i folded it or used a thicker one than my carotid arteries wouldn't get blocked and I wouldn't go unconscious.

That said I really didn't feel any pain. If your entire body weight is suspended then you'll go unconscious pretty quickly regardless if you use padding or not.
