Searching for an alternative to Beachy Head due to patrols. Went out there at night couldnt see best spot to jump due the pitch black got spotted fumbling in the dark. As high as BH would be great, need something that is high percentage and without risk of injuring others so no buildings.

I went there a while back in the middle of the day looking for a good spot. Planned going back at night to ctb.
I never noticed any patrols and even climbed a small fence to look over the edge. Nobody came running to see what I was doing. I think the patrols are very few and far between. It's a massive area to patrol and would take enormous manpower to do this. Far more than a few volunteers. I don't doubt that there are the occasional patrols. But I think the patrol stories are mainly to try and put people off who want to ctb.

Depends if your willing to travel that side of the coast is popular as its flat and that's one high ground, Were as down in the southwest the coast lines are rocky and high in a lot of places and as its coastal no patrols. Just need to find the right place
there's also the bridge between bristol and wales, but as said depends if you were serious and wanted to travel to achieve your aim

Maybe they're not that frequent as you mention. I just want to make sure it's not botched by a "hero", or not properly scouting for a sheer cliff edge. I drove through twice (first time going there) before parking which may have looked suspicious. Maybe I'll give it another go but was hoping for an alternative.

Yup willing to travel I'm in the south east. Stumbled on the bridge you mentioned in Bristol I believe it's the clifton. It looks high enough and good statistics but they've put up a fence to prevent suicides plus cctv.

Others I've looked at forth bridge in Scotland and Humber bridge (hull).

Less of a possibility but also thought of snowdonia and Ben Nevis as I've been hiking out there enough to know good spots. If nothing looks decent it will just have to be partial for me because I'm done and I need to go.

Well I'm sorry you have got to this stage but I wish you the peace you are seeking.
It's either SN or BH for me. Can't see any other viable option available for me.

By the way, I am not encouraging your choices, I am respecting your choices in life and the path you wish to walk on. Its not an easy place to be this one, and we all deal with it in our own ways,

I wish you the best in whatever you do, whether its this path or one of recovery

Would the humber bridge be viable? It's not too much of a drive for me (around a couple hours). Apparently there has been a few suicides but it doesn't seem high enough to kill from the walkway and the actual towers (which are 510ft~ each) are locked off with no way to climb. The drop into the water doesn't seem high at all and I feel as though you would have to rely on drowning to actually ctb.

Likewise mate, I believe everyone should choose their own path whatever it may be and I'm well aware of the finality of such decisions as I'm sure you are too. For me this is the road I need to walk. Cheers all the same for clarifying though.

I thought the deck height was over 100 meters turns out you're right it's only about 30meters, not good enough for me at all. This might be of interest to you though

Clifton suspension bridge seems to have a much higher deck drop.
