Are there any places I can read about how people die from jumping? I'm really afraid of the possibility of lying in agony for even 10 seconds, I'm hoping I can find something that says most jumps at 10 stories are instant deaths
10 stories is seen as the minimum recommended height to jump from if using this method when landing on land. Death is most likely to be instant, especially if landing on head.
This says that jump from at least 10 to 15 stories is 95% to 98% fatal.
Whilst jumping from height can be a very effective method of suicide (providing it is from sufficient height), it does not account for a particularly high percentage of suicides in either the US or the UK. Having said that, in Honk Kong it accounted for over half of all suicides in 20061, so...
