Jumping off Niagara Falls

I know alot of people on here dont support jumping in front a train becauseof the train driver. Would that extend the same for jumping off a very public place like Niagara Falls? Idk, if I saw someone do that I dont think i would be traumatized per say. Upset definitely though. Its not smthn that I'm considering that seriously but it is an option.

People have jumped from public places before like balconies and of course, Beachy Head, so I don't see how Niagara Falls would be any different. That being said, I understand the concerns about not wanting to traumatize bystanders.

In terms of the train, you'd be placing someone unassociated with you in a position where they are directly involved with your suicide process. Jumping off Niagara Falls doesn't have that, as any people around would not be actively participating.

Ignoring the fact that just because you feel like you wouldn't be traumatized by something doesn't make that the case irl, just because you don't think that you would be traumatized by something does not mean that is not the case for others. Also, Niagara Falls is typically pretty crowded, so there would be a high chance that someone might notice what you are trying to do and intervene. Along with that, Niagara Falls also has a lot of children around. Children go to the falls either with their parents or as part of school trips, so there would be a high risk of there being children around when you ctb, meaning that you risk potentially traumatizing them.

Most bystanders won't be too shaken up since it all happens so fast, but if you land right next to someone, they might get pretty freaked out. I've seen a bunch of videos where this happens, and usually, the person just bolts and calls 911

If someone actively watching you jump, they will shocked you actually did it but most cases the public don't care you killing yourself by jumping lol

If you land in the water, you will certainly drown even if the fall doesn't kill you. The river below the waterfall is almost impossible to survive in, and that is the case for at least a mile downstream of the falls.
However I have never visited Niagara, and don't know the layout of the publicly accessible areas, how they are positioned in relation to the river, how big the drop is, and and what you would land on if you jumped. You should research all those things before you make any decision.
