I'm so sorry to hear what happened to your poor daughter, and what happened to you.
I so wish MLK had been right when he said "the moral arc of the universe bends toward justice." Beautiful words, but the 13 billion-year-old universe is not required to care about the prayers and wishes of short-lived dots of matter like us. If anything, people who also don't care about others' prayers and wishes do rather better than the rest of us, since they don't have to limp along under the added burden of horror and outrage while just working to stay alive. They simply step over that homeless guy on the sidewalk, and scroll through porn on their phone to block out the dread of their upcoming work shift.
It's always sad when someone who actually feels for others leaves us, but how much weight can you expect one person to carry, and for how long?
Peace, fellow traveler.
